Corbin needs to be fired immediately

Sloan (and currently, many coaches like Pop, Thibs, etc.) wouldn't play someone if they didn't no matter how talented they were. Thus, if guys who played under him wanted to play they knew they couldn't drag ***. Very simple.

You think Stockton and Malone were motivated by playing time?

I've been back and forth about tanking. But the bottom line is that I feel like between Burke, Burks, Hayward, Favors and Kanter we have the potential for a championship contender down the line (obviously some other integral pieces will need to be added). One of the keys to winning down the line will be developing winning habits and understanding what it takes to win. Those young guys will never learn/experience that if the organization is 'tanking' by having an incapable head coach who can't develop winning skills/mentality.

Even if we had the best coach of all time this season the odds are we wouldn't make the playoffs and end up in the lotto. That's fine. But at this point I couldn't care less if we end up with the 1 or the 14. If our young nucleus can gain the priceless knowledge of what it takes to win in this league for the sake of a worse pick in the lotto, I'd prefer that.

The Jazz have been competitive in most games.

T'Wolves just destroy us because Love gives us such a huge mismatch. Kanter has 0% chance of effectively guarding him on the perimeter and Marvin can't keep him off the offensive glass. Favors does a better job, but is still mismatched on the perimeter. When Pecovic plays he destroys Kanter by getting deep position.

Before that we took the Blazers to the 4th quarter in their building and played a great game. Yeah, they didn't have Aldridge, but we didn't have Favors. We played hard and competed.

I'm not a Corbin fan, but he isn't that bad.

Memphis fired arguably one of the best coaches in the league and is now running a damn near identical win % with the next random rookie HC and two integral players in severe decline. Coaching is nowhere near the issue most make it out to be. It's an emotional scapegoat.

Never found Hollins to be that good of a coach...

Hire Lionel Hollins.

Nah.

Hollins got criticized for never playing the lineups that performed the best and being to conventional. I'd rather have someone who thinks more outside the box, or have Thibs or George Karl.

Thibs cause of defense obviously, Karl because I like the way he coached his Denver teams. Got them to play fast and take advantage of the altitude. I know his playoff track record is bad, but he is too good a coach not to break through at some point, given the right team.

So it's Corbin's fault if players don't exert maximum effort? I really get tired of hearing this. This isn't high school. These guys are professionals who shouldn't have to rely on a coach for motivation.

What's the coach's job if not to motivate players?

Im surprised people haven't revolted in New Orleans. They extended Monty Williams, and dude hasn't had a winning season since he had Chris Paul the one year he was a head coach.
Corbin pretty much = Monty Williams.

As a Pelicans fan I can tell you the overwhelming majority want him gone. Me Included. I would also like to see Dell Demps gone with Monty.

I would be so pissed if I was a Pelicans fan. I know a lot of casual fans of the team since I live around the area, and they all love the Holiday trade. I try to tell them that it messed up the franchise. Could have had MCW and a good draft pick this year, and not have burned the team to the Evans contract. Y'all would have been set up nice for the future.

The CP3 deal was one of the most lopsided ever: Overpaid Gordon, Aminu, Austin Rivers, and Kaman for CP3. LOL

I wouldn't be upset with Hollins though.

I'm pretty positive he will have a job next year somewhere.
