How does anyone think Grayson's bench is better?
Lou, Melo, and Warren are very redundant as high usage scorers who are awful on defense (Lou is arguably the worst defensive player in the NBA, Melo is arguably in the bottom 10, and Warren is really bad too).
Add to that Warren cant shoot at all, so I dont see any reason for him to even play (so I personally dont count that much against him because in my mind most teams would do 8 man rotations for these things). Lou's ability drastically drops in the playoffs where refs dont fall for his cheap foul drawing tricks and the physicality picks up on both ends. I sill think Melo is a good player capable of being a very good bench player, but he kind of dropped the ball in OKC and I don't really trust him at this point given how uncomfortable he is without the ball in his mid-range isos.
So who's really impressing you on his bench? I still love Iggy, but he is getting old and his age started showing last year. I also don't think he is of great use in this series because the bulk of OL's team is concentrated as guards and bigs, so Iggy's ability to guard the top tier forwards isnt as big here.
Gortat is OK as a backup center, but he turns 35 this season and looks pretty washed.
Well Ibaka is more washed up than Gortat based on how he finished the season and his real age be 35 years + as well. If OL would have pre injury Matthews I would consider his bench better, but otherwise him and Galinari are just a shadows of what they used to be so that kind of balances out with what GH has in Melo. And Lou will win his matchup vs Murray any day. Warren and Portis are both irrelevant.
