How does anyone think Grayson's bench is better?

Lou, Melo, and Warren are very redundant as high usage scorers who are awful on defense (Lou is arguably the worst defensive player in the NBA, Melo is arguably in the bottom 10, and Warren is really bad too).

Add to that Warren cant shoot at all, so I dont see any reason for him to even play (so I personally dont count that much against him because in my mind most teams would do 8 man rotations for these things). Lou's ability drastically drops in the playoffs where refs dont fall for his cheap foul drawing tricks and the physicality picks up on both ends. I sill think Melo is a good player capable of being a very good bench player, but he kind of dropped the ball in OKC and I don't really trust him at this point given how uncomfortable he is without the ball in his mid-range isos.

So who's really impressing you on his bench? I still love Iggy, but he is getting old and his age started showing last year. I also don't think he is of great use in this series because the bulk of OL's team is concentrated as guards and bigs, so Iggy's ability to guard the top tier forwards isnt as big here.

Gortat is OK as a backup center, but he turns 35 this season and looks pretty washed.

Well Ibaka is more washed up than Gortat based on how he finished the season and his real age be 35 years + as well. If OL would have pre injury Matthews I would consider his bench better, but otherwise him and Galinari are just a shadows of what they used to be so that kind of balances out with what GH has in Melo. And Lou will win his matchup vs Murray any day. Warren and Portis are both irrelevant.

Just curious? Who? And were they 17?

Ricky Rubio. He did very well at that age against US players. He was older when he made his NBA debut but didn't help his team win. It took a few years for that.

Dirk outplayed Charles Barkley when he was 17 but then struggled as a rookie.

Tony Parker similar to above.

Darko Milicic was awesome for his national team at 17 and was a bust in the nba. He went toe to toe with current all star Pau Gasol.

The list could go on. Mostly I listed guys that had success later in the NBA but didn't help their teams win as a rookie, but there are also plenty of Darkos and worse.

Can you provide Links for Dirk Parker Darko?

In a way that may be true about Gortat/Ibaka, but I'd still take Ibaka's defensive versatility and floor spacing over Gortat any day. True bigs are just kind of useless in today's NBA if they arent high tier players. I can certainly see Gortat being useful in this series due to how big OL's lineup is, but he is still aging rapidly and just got jettisoned from his team because of his diminishing value (along with his personality).

And yeah, Matthews isnt what he use to be, but he still shoots a lot of 3's at a high percentage while playing average defense without being on-ball. I don't see how him and Melo are equal in any sense. Also the whole intangibles thing. I don't love the Matthews pick, but I still think he can be a solid 8th man in a playoff rotation.

I get Lou Will is super fun to watch and his stats are insane, but he really is a litmus test for if you actually watch basketball vs just looking at stats. Murray is much better than Lou Will. Murray isnt a defensive stud (below average certainly), but he isnt the worst defender in teh NBA either (like Lou actually is and I mean seriously, just go look at every playoff series Lou Will has ever played). Murray could be up for a breakout 3rd season after a really good sophomore campaign.

And Gallinari missed a lot of time last year with weird injuries, like I think he missed three months with a hand injury and before that he was missing time with a hamstring strain. He is injury prone, but I don't think he is a shell of himself yet. If the argument is Gallo sucks cuz he is injury prone, sure. But when he's healthy he still plays really well. He has a similar issue to Melo where he is a bad defender, but he's more like bottom 20% instead of bottom 10% and his offensive is still really good. What's more likely, an engaged Melo who accepts a bench role and playing off-ball or a healthy Gallinari? I'd say the latter.

So that’s a no?

No, it's a yes. That's why I said yes. I provided the best one to find the information. I have others but I don't really feel like looking things up on my phone and posting them for you. If you want to know, look it up.

Besides, I have no idea what you are wanting. Links that they were good at 17? Links about their rookie years in the NBA? Or simply what you asked for links for them. Maybe you mean their socal media accounts so you ask them directly?

So you don’t want to prove yourself?
