Does Kanter show Jazz made mistake in these playoffs ......

Factor in the timing of Kanter's demands. Jazz had to scramble to put a deal together and teams used that to their advantage to low ball us.

The dude just finished 3rd in 6th man of the year voting and you're telling me his value hasn't gone up?

I said you convinced me that you were right.

He is playing in a bad matchup. You are letting one series dictate an opinion when hr just came off a series where he had a huge impact.

Overall, he is pretty good for a backup center. Top 5 offensive center (except for passing). Very good defensive rebounder. Elite offensive rebounder. Bottom 5 defensive center. If you are okay with leaving a wide open path to the basket, he is your guy. 1.44 ORPM. -1.81 DRPM. Overall RPM of -0.37. Reminds me a bit of Boozer 2.0.

In the bottom 20% DRPM there are 72 guards, 18 Forwards, and two centers (Kanter & Bargnani).

I don't think judging a player on their playability against the title favorite is unfair at all. I perceive Kanter as a team cog that can kinda get plugged in situationally as the coach deems, but this weakness of his is the difference between that and him being an all-star.

Kanter got that contract precisely because everyone knew how much the cap was going to jump. Cy is right on this. Kanter's contract is ridiculous now, but once the rest of the league catches up, it won't be that bad. As far as assets go, Kanter would be a more valuable trade chip than Pleis and that crappy pick we got, even on his current contract.

Anyone making 17 million a year and gets 6 minutes in a playoff game, that's a rip off of a contract, good matchup or how high the cap is, makes no difference. Do u want a guy making that much that is so limited on one side of the court that he may get less then ten minutes in the most important game of the year? making that much?? Starting to think we made out like bandits in the return the Jazz got for Kanter.

Well so far it seems exactly where Rudy is heading. He is a liability on offence at all times and is rendered pretty much useless on defense against good teams' small ball lineups which is exactly what the Jazz will face in the playoffs.
He also might end up costing same money if not more.

As much as I love Rudy and hate this post there is a lot of truth in there.

I think you could get away with rotating Gobert and Favors at center, then going with Hayward, Hood, Burks/draft pick and Exum. Even against "small" teams, I think you can still play him because of his defense and rebounding, then go smaller at the 4 and play three wings for stretches. I don't think you can do that with Kanter because of his poor defense. You can also play Gobert/Favors with Lyles in a more traditional lineup (as our future stretch 4). . . can't do that with Kanter and Lyles.

I really REALLY hope that Rudy disproves this statement...Makes me get worried

The Thunder are proving you don't have to go crazy small. Length and athleticism rule which is what we have in spades F*** small ball

My God, you're ****ing high or stupid. No 2 ways about it.

Ok, everyone buying into that BS post, please name all the teams that can run a small ball lineup that renders Rudy useless, not named GS. Go.
