(CNN)There is a growing sense of concern inside the White House over the negative reaction to Matthew Whitaker being tapped as acting attorney general after Jeff Sessions' abrupt firing.

Whitaker, who was Sessions' chief of staff, has faced criticism since Wednesday afternoon's announcement for his previous comments on special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

Several senior officials told CNN they were surprised by the criticism, and believe it could potentially jeopardize Whitaker's chances of remaining in the post if it continues to dominate headlines.

Well, what do I know, but I read he accompanied Sessions to the Oval Office a lot, and basically has been sucking up to Trump on each visit, lol. His appearances on TV for quite awhile were also designed to impress Trump. The Post editorial board just pointed out just how unqualified Whitaker is. This is truly absurd!

She invaded his space twice in an attempt to grab the mic from him, on the second attempt while he is gesturing toward Trump his arm comes down and touches hers. I hardly see this as the thing to hang your hat on. Sarah shared a video she may or may not have known was altered. I think the better criticism would be that she shared an infowars clip at all. And I think the still better criticism of this administration has nothing to do with this incident.

Acosta physically resisted having the mic taken away. I think that was bad form on his part. Not credential revoking worthy, not even close, but bad form nonetheless.

I'm having a hard time understanding the outrage over the video editing. I mean it's a ****ing infowars video. Infowars. I mean the guy needs to sell protein powder somehow, right?

Suppose she didn't know. She certainly does now. Are you seriously ok with no apology from her to the American public for using a doctored video in this way? I sure as heck am not.

No, on principle I'm absolutely not okay with her either knowingly using a doctored video or not apologizing once she discovered it was doctored.

I'm just not getting this as being anywhere close to a focal point of criticism against the Trump administration or Sarah Huckabee Sanders, specifically. Not to say it isn't worthy of criticism, but I personally don't find it to be nearly as outrageous as many other things Trump does on a daily basis.

You're right that using an infowars video is the bigger issue. Actually, I'm not sure that's even an issue, since we know the administration follows conspiracy websites/personalities and often quote them.

So there is really no issue here at all. Not the doctoring, the conspiracy website, not the non-apology, and not the revocation. It's all what we've come to expect.
