I have long taken the position that I don't necessarily have a problem with criminal prosecution of Trump so long as it is in a criminal court but I also think it is a colossally stupid thing to do because the damage it would do to the fabric of the nation far outweighs any potential benefit. I have even said in this thread the raid on Mar-o-Lago was probably legal. I simply believe that it would have been better for the nation if the government had pursued this with more lawyers behind the scenes and fewer machine guns in front of cameras.

If I'm wrong and the government can keep doing what it does then I'm not happy but oh well. If I'm not wrong, how may people are going to have to die before you decide that maybe lowering the temperature on the rhetoric and open aggression is the wiser course of action? Is there a number? Does it not matter so long as you can justify the deaths in your head and it hurts more of the people you don't like than the ones you do? What is it going to take for you to think that maybe we should take a beat to think about the consequences before proceeding with a thing we can do because it is legal to do?

You mean, the heated rhetoric coming from the left on Donald Trump's FBI search? I hadn't seen that.

Standing outside, brandishing weapons is standard FBI procedure for a raid, at least for prominent people. Check out the pictures from the raid on Cuellar's house.

The more rational thing to do would to simply stop worshipping a stupid idiot and stop demonizing anyone or anything that goes against the stupid idiot. Maybe we should all join as one in allowing the stupid idiot to get punished for wrongdoing. Nah, lets just let trump do whatever he wants and then the right and the left will hold hands and sings songs of peace.
 
Its like this: Law enforcement kneels on a handcuffed dudes neck for 9 minutes until he is dead. BACK THE BLUE! BLUE LIVES MATTER!
Law enforcement asks a man to return stolen property. The man returns some of it but not all of it. Law enforcement issues a subpeona to return the rest of the stolen property. The man tells law enforcement to go screw themselves. Law enforcement gathers evidence and information and takes it to a judge to get a search warrant. Law enforcement uses the search warrant to retrive the stolen property and doesn't even charge the man or arrest him or anything. The man is just fine. Untouched, rich, and beloved by many. ATTACK LAW ENFORCEMENT! LAW ENFORCEMENT IS EVIL!

Pretty strange priorities.
