Doner kebabs in Utah?

Oh, and this might depend on the place, but my favorite doner kebab shop in Germany served ones that were easily 50% larger than the typical gyro size.

This is true. There were some places, as I pointed out about Coburg, that had guys with carts they would wheel around, like bratwurst stands. And typically the street doner were larger than your typical gyro. And most I had were on split flatbread, not rolled or put on a flat pita then folded like a taco. They would cut the flatbread into quarters and split each quarter open from the point end, stuff it full of goodness, and sometimes fold the point ends over the whole thing and secure with a toothpick or similar.

There are some doners like this. Every state, and area serves them a little differently. The meat used, the bread etc.

This is the style I saw most often I think.

So how is doner kebab supposed to be pronounced? I know the german pronunciation, and the lazy american pronunciation (donner kuh-bob). What is the actual pronunciation?

You try really really hard to be cool in an anonymous online forum. Do people where you live make fun of you a lot? Kind of a loner? I really feel bad for you.

Why did you take what I said even slightly seriously? You have a truly deep-seated inferiority complex.

Yeah. I really feel sorry for you dal. I hope you find happiness that isn't tied into how random strangers view you in an online forum some day, so you can be yourself and stop trying to be the sad gangster wanna-be that is trying so so hard to be cool. You don't need to be "cool" man, just be yourself. Stop emulating and be original. You can find true happiness when you allow yourself to face your fears instead of burying them in ridiculing random strangers. Peace bro.

most americans say "dough-ner kabab"

"dew-nair" is a little closer to how you pronounce it correctly.

I can't pronounce the ö good enough to fool the Germans into thinking I'm native though.

The French "de" (e as in early)

ner (e as in fair pronounced by a Yorkshirian)

Widely sliced meat leafs lying on a bed of muffin breads both showered with delicious melt butter and hot tomato sauce as an option on top and more melt butter served with yogurt, cooked tomatoes and green pepper and also may be served with pilaf.
