What's new

Draft night 2017 might be the single biggest turning point in Utah Jazz history.

I don't see a Jimmy Butler trade being possible or being a big positive to Hayward. If so Boston will outbid us.

True but Utah needs to bring in someone IMO. They need to go to Hayward with a Gobert + someone scenario instead of just Gobert.

Hayward wants to win now and DL has to show him that the Jazz want to win now as well.

If this all falls apart I will be pissed, won't lie. I will be here period as its not in me to walk away but I'll be bummed as hell.

Maybe we should outsource our drafting to the Dallas Cowboys. Last year they got the best running back in the league, the rookie of the year QB in the 4th round, and the best LB prospect in the league - which they only were only able to draft because he was badly injured otherwise he'd been an overall top 5 pick himself!! Talk about an expert draft fellas

If Hayward leaves... man it's going to be hard to shell out that $200 for league pass but alas.. I'll do it. If he stays in Utah I'm going to buy his jersey for my son, otherwise forgetta bout it!

If it's true Hayward want to leave, could it be the coach?

Guys here want to give Snyder credit for Hayward being the player he is now ,same as for Gobert which is baloney.....Boston is top 7 in PPG without Hayward. As the finals has showed, there's a lot of points being scored.
Snyders coaching emphasizes low scoring games with older veterans in to help.Boston has alot of younger players that Coach Stevens plays instead.
The money is the same ,but the playing philosophy is much different.

I agree that this is a very important time during the draft. Ideally, we make a massive move. However, I just don't see what move we can pull off. I would love Butler, but the Celtics can get him so much easier than we could. Hell, the Celtics could get him using assets they have next year after signing Hayward this summer. I just don't see Butler as an option unless Chicago feels they have to move him during the draft.

I find myself frustrated at all of the scenarios because we just don't have the assets to make a big enough splash. I personally would trade 3 first rounders (two this year and one next year) and Favors and even Hood if the right trade presented itself. I just don't know what that trade is for a current player. My goals would be....

Porzingis
Parker
Butler
George
Fournier
Danny Green

But I just don't see us getting those guys.

At the very least, I would look at getting into the lottery using our assets and maybe taking back a subpar contact. Kyle Kuzma is the ideal target should our FO value him. We need another wing without a doubt.

Danny Green should be our target and is the most realistic. San Antonio will be looking to shed salary if they believe there is a chance to sign CP3.

I'm trying to figure out why Boston would be a better destination for him? I get that playing in a bigger market with his college coach would be a plus.

But Boston isn't a better team. Nor do I see Thomas making Hayward a better player. Hayward needs the ball in his hands to be most effective as does Thomas. Boston would have another OKC situation, where two stars need/want the ball but there's only one ball to share.

there was one game then Quin was in his ear not yelling but explaining something.. and I could see a look on Hayward's face that gave me the notion for a second Hayward didn't like him... He didn't look him in the eyes, gave a vibe that he was putting up with him. Hopefully I'm wrong but you reminded of that. I personally like Quin and our front office. I never liked Corbin.

I watched the video where Hayward was entering the arena after the Zuppa Subotage, Lindsey was standing in the middle of the empty tunnel looking worried and anxious. lindsey looked eager to greet Hayward, who completely blew Lindsey off. It was cold.

I think they have a brighter future right now, only because they're getting all these picks from the Nets. That's the only thing I can see.

This current Western Conference GM who went on record as saying the belief around the league is that he is gone, probably wants him gone to Boston or Miami so his team doesn't have to deal with him 4 times a year. You always have to consider the source. The Jazz made no preemptive moves at the trade deadline to set themselves up in case Hayward leaves. There were no rumblings that they were considering trading Hayward either. I think they are confident in him staying. And I still think he stays. I do agree that it's time to turn some of these assets into a big name player though.
