I think this probably makes me a "globalist" ideologically but I think the only way humanity will ever achieve peace is to have a one-world government. The anti-globalist seem to think one-world government means humanity enslaved, but I don't see how enslavement benefits anyone anymore than the functional enslavement we all live under today in the U.S. and every other developed nation. We all have to play the game of either working for a living or running a business, or live on the bottom rung of society living off assistance and being treated as such, or "freedom" aka being homeless.
I agree. Have no idea how we overcome nationalism though. Some new mythos that draws humanity together in a new vision of our species?
Made me think of the Overview Effect, described by astronauts. A change that occurs in them as a result of seeing the Earth as a blue ball in space. A spiritual experience by many accounts. Anyway, studied that for a bit, lots of info and videos out there, and it occurred to me that every major political leader needs to take a ride in space, lol. Seriously, I do believe, just from these accounts, that it could not hurt to let them see the Earth as a blue marble in blackness. I can only imagine, but if space flight were to become cheap, and real real safe, lol. Trump, no, he’d demand to see God’s papers, struck down by blinding light or not, but it’s a possible path to seeing all life as one, and the wisdom of governing paradise in more balance as a united planet.
Pipe dream for now. Can’t be sending our budding authoritarians arses into the great beyond quite yet. But I do think the more people exposed to the Overview effect, the better for them, and the planet. And political leaders first in line. Knock some sense into them, then give them another shot.
Just trying to find paths to making one world possible. Any way I think of it, though, be Hell and high water(literally) getting there, maybe even a world war, for sure climate change impacts. Challenging decades ahead, I still believe we have powers and abilities we seldom even dream of, and a future once we figure out what it means to be a human being on Earth. I see where Orcas have taken up two odd habits: ramming and attacking sailing vessels, and swimming up to humans and offering them food. They do the latter to humans in boats, in the water, even on land. Maybe nature is trying to remind us of our place in the web of life.
