First Ebola virus diagnosed in the USA (Dallas, TX)

And there have been several reports of other people coming into the US with it, but no transmission reports within our borders yet.

Of course, sensationalism and bad news generates page views and clicks. Same reason we see so many stories about evil cops all over the place.

Meanwhile, things that should be making the news, like the Koch bros buying up our democracy, goes completely unreported. Or the outrageous pork barrel money we shovel out to defense contractors. Or the fracking in Oklahoma which has led to a 2,000 percent increase in earthquakes.

All these doctors that got infected in the last few months - they got in spite of their "space" suits. Apparently those body fluids, vomit, saliva, blood, urine, sperm, feces etc, are highly highly contagious and even a droplet can get you sick. It doesn't take a huge viral load.

And now Primary Children's Hospital in SLC is investigating a possible (though highly improbable, according to them) case of Ebola. My youngest is going to a school where there are a lot of immigrant African kids. I hope those people are smarter and don't go to visit their inlaws in times like this...
