What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

Let's hear some ideas.

GST is looking for;
- A starting SF
- A backup PG
- A back-up Big

They're willing to deal their #7, 30, 35, and 52 in trying to get as much of that accomplished as possible.

If GS is able to get Iguodala for the #7 and some extras then I would like to see the KOC start working with his old friends in Phily and try and nab their first round pick.

Jazz are talking with Philly, regularly, and have been for a couple months. Like CLE, though, I don't know the details. I was also trying to find out whether talks were still going with HOU, but haven't heard .. so those may have died.

Thanks for the update. Knowing that KOC is being active and that Jefferson is being thrown out there makes me happy. I just don't like the thought of this team with its young potential to stand pat and hope for the best. I want to see a championship or, at the very least, be considered a contender and that means making moves and trimming the fat on the roster (Jefferson, Howard, Bell and Harris).

In the realm of ridiculous things that don't work .. how great would it be to send Harris and Jefferson to the Tankers (solving 2 or their 3 issues) for their #7 and removing protection from next year's pick. While I'm dreaming, we also pick up Rush.

/dream

That would be amazing. The best part is that the addition of those two players might mean that the Jazz will be drafting in the top 5 with no protection on the GSW pick!

/Sarcasm. Harris and Jefferson are not that bad, but they are not that good either.

This. I don't think he has a real high ceiling, but he's fun to watch and ready to play.

I agree about his ceiling. He will not turn into an all-time great, but he could be a great player coming off the bench and adding toughness and energy to the team. He could be a solid role player for a contender.

Here is a video about White in Indiana.

I think that White will contribute in the NBA from day 1. I like his as a prospect in the 20's. I would hate to see OKC, SA, Denver or the like to get their hand on him. I wouldn't mind if Indiana drafted him though.

What do you see as NBA ready skills for White?

I see that he will be able to rebound, defend the post and play position defense. He doesn't get off the floor much to block shots or finish at the rim. From what I have seen his jumper is suspect. So NBA defenders will back off and dare him to shoot. If drives into the lane and forces shots he is going to get a lot of shots blocked.

He looks like he could be a rotation player but that is why his stock is the late first round.

He has plenty of highlights where he finishes strong at the rim, even against Kentucky.

His stock is late 1st round because of his anxiety disorder.

Out running and dunking on (well not on, but beside) Anthony Davis.

White has assembled an intriguing body of work. But, it's hard to avoid talking about his problems on defense and his inability to hit a jump shot. IMO, the Jazz are looking for a guy without these particular question marks.

Also, I think Chad Ford wrote an insider piece saying that White could go as high as the 10th pick.

IMO, Chad is wrong. I like White, but to think he doesn't also have major limitations is ignoring some obvious things. (Just as saying he is too limited to make an impact for a team is, as well.)
