Following potential 2013 draftees

Re: Siva - pass.

He can't shoot and he's just not that good. He's a heady hard working college player.. a nice college player. Unless we're talking mid 2nd round or later, no thanks. (And, no, its not because he's louisville)

i dont know where the jazz are at on drafting SG's but i have a few SG's that i like over the consensus(including crabbe) and think they are being underrated atm

Archie Goodwin(whos falling apparently)
Tony Snell
Tim Hardaway Jr
and Reggie Bullock

i wont complain if crabbes the pick at 21, i think that means kevin murphy is **** outa luck right?

There are several interesting possible 2's available. Why do you think those guys are a better fit than Crabbe?
I like Crabbe because of his shooting, and the way he scores within the offense. And his length.

Do you think those guys would fit in better, or as just flat out more talented?

Mid 2nd round is exactly where im talking, i think its an interesting fit to bring in a decorated college player in with 19 year old German Schroeder.

its got a nice Dynamic to it, we have plenty of marketable players to surround them with, if the guards are young and quick and appear to be the injection in the arm the team needs... maybe even, espn and tnt start to put utah on 10-14 times a year, u never know.

If they win thats the bottom line, we make the playoffs with kids they are gonna get nationwide press and praise, i think Siva is a great vocal leader, locker room guy, who can help Schroder transition to the America and American basketball, while working thru being a rookie together.

That I agree with. I wasn't sure if he was being discussed at 21.

What's your thoughts on Erik Murphy?

I'm the self proclaimed leader of the Siva bandwagon.

Check it out- Of everyone that participated in these measurements
Siva ranks
#6 in standing vert leap
#4 in max vert leap
#4 in lane agility drill
#7 in 3/4 sprint
#14 in modified lane agility drill
#7 in spot up shooting.

Those combine numbers are ridiculous considering no other draft player measured made all 6 of the standings as high as Siva did.
Combine this with the fact that he's led his team twice to the NCAA finals and I'm again befuddled as to how he's not at the very least a 2nd round draft pick consideration.

He does have small size though. But look-
Hieght w/o shoes
Burke- 5'11.75''
Siva- 5'11.5''

Standing reach
Burke- 8'1.5''
Siva- 7'9''

Bench Press
Burke- 3
Siva- 15

Go through the entire measurements and Siva beats Burke in everything but size and in size, he's not that much smaller.

This.

How? Even if the cap goes up to $60mm, and the Mavs are able to dump everyone but Dirk, CP3 and Dwight would have to take significant paycuts to sign with Dallas. Dirk makes nearly $23mm next season, and 10 min salary cap holds brings their total cap with only Dirk up to about $28mm. That leaves only $32mm in first year salary to offer Dwight and CP3 combined. No way in hell. Those 3 plus minimum salary players won't get it done anyway.

Yeah, damn. Could've done that math in my head but I assumed if they cleaned house except for Dirk that they could've swung it. Whoops.

And after four years scorched the nets for 10 points a game on 40% shooting, and who after four years had his eFG% and TS% plummet then come back up to below his freshman and sophomore years and got worse at getting to the line. What these measurements prove is that how good you are at basketball is still relevant to how good you are at basketball (he's not very good).

I'm just saying that for a mid-2nd round guy, he might not be a bad pickup as a 2nd to 3rd string PG. He's not a starter in the NBA though, and I get that.

Locke and Spencer Ryan Hall said as much on Twitter. It'd be hard for me to dig up these rumors though.

I wouldn't be shocked. Not that it was easy to judge Murphy based on the 10 or whatever minutes he got last season, but nothing about him screamed even an ok bench player to me.

He had a couple games where his stroke looked really nice. Most of the time he looked like he was forcing it because he new he had about 30 seconds to score (reminds me of how Burks played at the beginning of the season).

There will be better players to be had in the 2nd round. I think Siva will be lucky to get drafted.
