Following potential 2014 draftees

Really? Who are you thinking?

Good question.

If we are really talking best case scenario (his shot improves, his handles improve, and he gets an alpha dog killer mentality) then i think his ceiling is closer to guys like jordan, kobe, and lebron.

Best case scenarios rarely happen however

That would be worst case scenario if he's on any team besides the Jazz

I truly believe Wiggins is the most likely to not meet expectations out of the top 3. His upside is tremendous but his game and fire have holes.

I know Self runs a certain kind of system but I expected Wiggins to make that his team with all the hype but on many occasions/games he was just another player on the floor. I can't think of a lot of HOF'ers you can say that about in college.

This is a very exciting draft though, that said. It's going to be fun to see how this class pans out over the next 3-5-10 years.

Pippen is a hard case to peg. He was so good, and took a secondary role to the best ever. I wonder what we would have thought about pippen if he didn't play with mj? Anyway, I think if wiggins ends up like pippen, he will win at least one championship in his career, which would be awesome.

If you can dunk the ball, you are an amazing player.

is this in-reference to the Kwe Parker dunk i posted?

After seeing footage of similar dunks, that is one of a kind. You cant find that dunk being pulled up from the hip in almost a straight line to the basket. DeMar Derozan did a less impressive variation from the baseline in the dunk contest a few years ago. It looks like the first footage of a similar dunk is from a 6'2" streetballer named "Wurm" but he whips the ball around his head instead of from the hip.

Kwe Parker can jump out of the gym, but hes also a legit basketball talent. 2016 recruit with offers from Va Tech and Clemson already, hes rated a 4 star prospect by 247 while playing second fiddle on his NC State championship team to Dennis Smith Jr.

CJ Fair has a decent first step, and can get to the rim, the issue with that is hes got tunnel vision when driving. His shot is very steaky and sometimes just off, hes certainly not going to be reliable from NBA 3pt range. Fair could continue to develop his mid-range and driving game. TJ Warren destroyed him in both matchups this season, thats when i stopped considering him draftable, he lacks ideal length also, just a 6'9½ wingspan on average athleticism.

He was probably better off in last years draft TBH. he closed out last year with strong games vs Louisville and Michigan

League sources say Nets willing to give small guarantees to free agents to get them to join training camp roster. Want to be competitive. Guarantees would go to those not taken in draft and others likely to make minimum. Have done in past but sparingly. Such guarantees, usually >$100k, count against cap and luxury tax. Money spent to buy picks, buy out international players does not. @NetsDaily

CJ is probably one of those FA's

Saric's draft stock is over-inflated, he will fall to the teens. his defense is an issue.

Saric is down to 11 in Dx's update today, and my favorite player that no one will talk about on this board, Kristaps Porzingis, is up to 15.

I read the other day from a scout that Porzingis is the best euro prospect in this draft. If you look at the game footage its fairly spectacular for a 7' 18 year old. Hes super quick off the floor and almost has the appearance of 'hangtime' his shooting mechanics look great too.

Do you think the reported "promise" that he got from the Thunder is legit?

Yes. Of all the smokescreens pre-draft there's solid reasoning behind this one, the teams looking at Kristaps dont want him to pull out of the draft, which is still possible for another week or so.

I can remember reading a rumor about the Thunder looking for a big to draft and stash with one of the picks before the Porzingis promise rumor. Another reason I think its legit is IMO, the Thunder have no chance at him next year.

Porzingis did say he wasn't going to be in this draft, then a few weeks later unexpectedly declared.

So, what are people's thoughts on Sabbazz Napier at 23? To me, he does not seem all that different from Trey Burke, but would be a lot less money and we could trade Burke for another player/pick.

It could make things awkward at the point unless Burke were traded, but I agree, he's probably just as good as Burke, could be a little better. Very similar players in college, similar size, Burke was better at some things, Napier was better at a couple things.

If the Jazz can get someone to overpay for Trey Burke im all for it, but im not crazy about projecting Shabazz as a legit starter for a good playoff team. If that trade happens id hope the Jazz plan on making offers for Isaiah Thomas, Kyle Lowry or Eric Bledsoe. (or at least Patty Mills as a fallback option)

Shabazz might be the better 3pt shooter. 20/43 from 3 in 6 games during the tournament.

I think Burke has made enough clutch shots in his career to warrant at least another 2-3 years at the helm. We're definitely selling him short if we don't at least give him a good go.

Better rebounder and better defender as well. As far as projecting Napier to be a legit starter on a playoff team, I agree with you, but then I'm not sure Burke is either. I think Napier would be excellent replacement for Burke if Burke could be moved for a valuable piece - though I have doubts about whether Burke could fetch anything worthwhile.
