Got no problem if DL believes in and pick Kaminsky over Turner. But it would certainly be interesting to hear his rationale for doing so.
I actually think I could get excited about Lyles if and only if Towns, Russell, Okafor, Mudiay, Porzingis, Hezonja, Winslow, Johnson, WCS, Booker, and Turner were all gone in the first 11 picks.
Derrick Favors height w/ shoes 6'10.25, 245 lbs, wingspan 7'4, standing reach 9'2.
Trey Lyles height w/ shoes 6'10.25, 241 lbs, wingspan 7'2, standing reach 9'0.
I'm just trying to paint a picture of what kind of size Lyles has, Favors is longer, but they're essentially the same as far as height and weight goes.
We would have a nice three big rotation:
Favors
Gobert
Lyles
Favors
Lyles
Gobert
and if we wanted to go small Lyles could play center in small ball lineups. I watched Kentucky quite a bit and Lyles stood out as far as his mid range game goes. He can consistently hit a 15-footer from the corner, from the elbow, from the top of the key, etc. He isn't post oriented, so he would fit in with Favors and Gobert in that regard.
I'm just trying to be prepared for any situation, but in DL I trust.
If Lyles can't hit the jumper, we will rue the day we picked him. If he can... he'll be OK rotational player.
In the end, I will believe in whoever we pick.
Also, Frank has never said he won't play for Utah. He just named 3 teams he would prefer to play for, doesn't mean he is against playing for Utah, it's just not a top 3 destination.
Also we don't know how much of that is purely agent driven.

Why not take a chance on Oubre? Much higher ceiling than Lyles.
I totally agree. I'm just saying I'm preparing for anything.
Lol, yep... we are preparing to be forced to like anybody. I have to make a thread I was thinking about a while ago where we say BEFORE the draft who we will be happy with and who we won't be.
Can Kaminsky guard a 4? If he can't guard a 4 then he's gotta be a 5 in the NBA correct?I'm thinking Kaminsky's defense won't be great and he won't do well in the post scoring. So his ceiling is probably Ryan Anderson? He's going to be a 4 too.
