I say this knowing he was just a freshman. Spellman just doesn’t impress me. His shooting touch does. But outside of that, I’m unimpressed. He didn’t rebound particularly well given his size over most everybody else in college. His assist numbers were atrocious. He doesn’t seem to have any sort of dribble drive game or anything. And I question his ability to defend guys at the next level.

This would be a great move for the Jazz. Gortat only has one year left on his contract so it would affect our 2019 cap space at all. We have the ability to waive Udoh, Jerebko, and Sefelosha to create the cap space to take on Gortats contract. There should be some really good players available at 15. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Dennis Lindsey make this move, it just makes too much sense.
I don't think we have that until July 1

Marcin Gortat (13.6mil), Jason Smith (5.5mil), and Jodie Meeks (3.5mil)
Gotta think it's Gortat they want to get rid of lol. Also holy **** at Ian Mahinmi two more years at like 31mil total.
I show we have 107.6M currently.
Unless we cleared a reasonable amount moving JJ, and I’m too lazy to calculate.

We have Hood and Hill's trade exceptions still....
It’s still the 2017-2018 season. All those guys are on contracts. Can’t renounce until July 1, the start of the new season.
