What's new

Following Potential 2018 Draftees

It’s still the 2017-2018 season. All those guys are on contracts. Can’t renounce until July 1, the start of the new season.

Yeah, that’s why I had asked.

A deal can still be stated in principle though I think. We could tell Washington who we want, they draft him, and we then draft who they want. Then, on July 1, the trade becomes official.

This is how the trade would have to work:

Burks (expiring) and #21 for Gortat and #15. This trade only saves Washington $2 million next year. So that's not going to happen.

However - Burks and #21 for Gortat and Satoransky and #15 works and the trade saves Washington almost $5 million which is their goal. Doubt they trade us Satoransky and #15 though : http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yaycrm56

That could definitely be a potential move for the Jazz
I would like to think so. But they can only offer smaller expirings, if I understand correctly.

Is it really true that Jerebko/Udoh/Sefolosha can't be traded then their options declined for '18-'19? Cuz that really sucks if true.

Well if thats how it'd have to work. you've just debunked the possibility lol.

We could pick up the options on Udoh, Jerekbo and Thabo and then trade them as expirings, but that doesn't really work for us/Washington unless they want to trade us Gortat, Smith and #15 for Thabo, Jerekbo, Udoh and #21. Saves them almost $5 million I guess...

In 2004 an artist called Dr. Jazz’s Universal Remedy preformed a song called “Milt Shake.” Is that a sign?

Im a huge Shake Milton fan btw, the way he's been kinda cast aside by some as a mid-2nd rd prospect is not how I see it at all. One of my favorite players I think will outperform his draft position.

Ppl try to marginalize his talents like he's the 2nd coming of Mardy Collins.

So I guess the way the Washington thing COULD happen is:

-Washington wants to really trust the Jazz
-the Jazz could promise to jettison enough cap to absorb Gortat after July 1st
-Washington selects who the Jazz want, then perform the transaction after July 1st (probably also throwing in Bradley or Udoh).

In that scenario, the Jazz keep 21 because the Wizards save a ******** of money.

This performance was epic, hands down one of the best I saw last season, if not the best. You've gotta take into account that Jarrey Foster who would've been a draft pick and player mentioned in this thread tears his ACL in the opening minutes of the game...

I think these are their expirings

Marcin Gortat (13.6mil), Jason Smith (5.5mil), and Jodie Meeks (3.5mil)

Gotta think it's Gortat they want to get rid of lol. Also holy **** at Ian Mahinmi two more years at like 31mil total.

We can still use our TPEs, can't we?
