Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I looked at the Ringers Big Board.

They had Hugo at 6'6 205.

So in the last year he's grown an inch and put on 20lbs and still looks as athletic as ever.

for what it's worth, i agree with you here. if Kas is successful, i think they will have play a similar role - i'm just saying it will take a lot of improvement as a shooter to reach podz's level- though as Naos pointed out, he's such a great passer, he probably doesn't ever NEED to reach that level as a shooter.
Also worth noting that Podz draft year was as a sophomore at Santa Clara and couldn’t get off the bench as a freshman for the same team that Kas was leading as a freshman and had hype as top-3 before injury.

Because he's white? Both are rim protecting shooters who have massive Wingspans, very athletic for their size, aren't great rebounders and can play the 4/5.
No he’s more of a playmaker and passer. Their offense is different. To me their athleticism isn’t the same. Jackson is explosive Chet is fast and coordinated and does a lot more with the ball in hand. More mid range and stays outside a lot more.

Let’s just remember that Gobert fell to 27th in one of the worst drafts in recent memory.

Gobert was a very strange prospect, I don't understand how he was so physically and athletically underdeveloped despite being the age of a guy in his Junior season. He got absolutely bullied in France and was just terrible at rebounding.

Then, he put on 25 pounds and got way more athletic and the rest was history.

This was the hope for Cody Williams too, but it's not going so well so far.

But how is Hugo 6'7.5 in shoes, with a 6'11 wingspan but only a 8'5.5 reach? That's simply not possible. That's pretty legit PF size. I think it would at least be 8'8.
Did they do athletic testing for him? Usually when the standing reach is unusually low(especially for guards and wings, where nobody is actually looking at standing reach, but rather wingspan) some players sandbag their standing measurement so their athletic measurements would look more impressive.

Walter Clayton Jr. day on Cashiggy, and he's basically Steph Curry without any natural play making ability. The average distance he shoots from is insane. The difficulty of his 3pt attempts is nuts.

Walter Clayton Jr (22.3 yrs) - 6'3.25" (6'4" wingspan) 8'1.5" standing reach, 37" vert, 38.6% 3pt%, 87.5% FT%
Curry (21.3 yrs) - 6'3.25" (6'3.5" wingspan) 8'1" standing reach, 35.5" vert, 38.7% 3pt% 3, 87.6% FT%

The biggest difference (which is a pretty huge difference) is that Steph had a 38.3% usg% at Davidson and Walter Clayton Jr. had a 25.6% usg% at Florida.

(Disclaimer for those who take these things too far: I'm not saying he's going to be Steph, just that they have some similarities)

I have no strong opinion on Hugo, there just isn't enough to go off of. From what I have seen he is very active, especially on defense, which I like. I haven't seen any skill really, so I feel like his offense has a ways to go. I'm pretty sure most of his time playing has been garbage time, so I'm not sure if there is much you can take away from it, but it is by far the worst looking numbers of anyone in the draft (Although he did play in the best league).
