Following Potential 2025 Draftees

this simply isn't true - but let's clarify that 2/3 are interchangeable and he's a wing. he needs to improve his shooting, but he's only 18 and shot 35% from three while taking extremely tough threes - the base as shooter is there to play that wing spot. as far as lateral quickness, your comment is simply laughable. he has issues, but shooting (of course needs to continue to get better) and lol - lateral quickness - lol, are not among them.

his size + lateral quickness might be his greatest strength. his ability to stay in front of guards and smaller forwards at 6'9" might be the one thing he has at a near elite level.
add the fact that he can rotate and provide help coverage at the rim. That's one of the most important defensive attributes.

He needs a sandwich to be sure, but he's within a half inch and 8 lbs of Risacher last year, who was considered very big for a wing.

This is all true if you neglect wingspan, which is what we should all know is most important when we talk about length. Will Riley is 39th percentile SF size/physical wise. Risacher only 53rd percentile. Neither of these guys are very big. Those who consider Risacher very big are simply incorrect.

Risacher has less than an inch of wingspan on Riley.

If you believe in Knueppel, you probably believe in him being your initiator in a more egalitarian system, rather than just a shooting wing. I'm not saying this is my favorite outcome, but I think that's the rationale for taking him ahead of Fears and Ace in the present context.
He's not an initiator, he's a connector. I dont think you know what these words mean.

Kon isn't an initiator though. Idk why you insist on hyping up prospects by giving them attributes they don't have.

I’m not the one hyping him up. If it were up to me, the Jazz would take Tre or Ace, but there’s real noise out there that Knueppel is being considered at #5, and it’s coming from some media that have connections and that people trust.

I don’t see how you take Kon over Ace and Fears unless you think he’s more than just a 2nd side guy. (The other guys have a star upside.) Kon showed flashes of on-ball initiation in the tournament. He might have that ability, and that would be more rationale for taking at 5.

Teams initiate all the time from the wing, including with guys who were considered limited playmakers at one point. The Celtics play through Tatum. The Clippers play through Kawhi. The Magic play through Wagner. Etc. I’m only guessing, but I assume the Jazz see some of that potential in Kon.

My main concern with Kon is his footspeed.

Ok but Kon is not an initiator
