If there is a desire from both NOP/WAS (and whoever else) for Ace, just take him at #5 even if he's not your guy and start the bidding war. Don't be a Cedric Coward Ainge!
 
Not taking Andy Larsen's draft model too seriously, but it's kind of funny how much it absolutely despises Fears and views him as undraftable. Publishing a result saying Fears is the 72nd best player in the draft right before the Jazz pick him is going to cause some interesting articles.
 
I think the Jazz want VJ or Tre, and if those two are both gone at 5 that's when things start to get a bit messy. If that's really the case, and the Jazz aren't sold on Ace, then someone trading up to take Ace could be good for us.

There are a few parallels between Jeremiah Fears as a prospect and De'Aaron Fox at UK. Their counting stats are similar. Their strengths and weaknesses are somewhat similar. Advanced stats favor Fox. Fox was also the more highly touted HS prospect, though Fears reclassified so it means a bit less.

Fox was the #5 pick in 2017.

Definitely some parallels there. Fox was an absolute beast at the rim in college, but Fears has a much higher 3FG projection.

See also the discussion at 18:55 on who will really determine the pick: ie, JZ, DA, AA. Sounds like there's some differences within the FO (not that that shouldn't be expected).
