I know nobody can know, but if Walker were healthy, Nurk was playing like he is, and everyone else was playing every game (i.e., we were trying to win), is this a top 6 squad in this loaded West? Or would we still struggle to sniff the play in?

No, still not enough consistency among the back half of the rotation

I think we would firmly be in the play in but not 6 seed level.

I want to believe if we were trying to win that Harkless would be getting more run (back when he was healthy). I think a Keyonte, Harkless, Ace, Lauri, Kessler lineup could be at least average defensively.

If we take this group healthy next year and add some winning vets we could be a 6th seed. This year like many said I think we could be floating around .500 if we were trying to win and healthy. But who knows. We could be better if team morale was high and guys were feeling good. It's hard to tell when the team is obviously tanking. I think our defense would be much better with Kessler and trying to win.

This roster has plenty of warts (to say the least) but we've already shown that when everybody's healthy and playing, we can pretty much beat anybody. That's how good our offense is with Lauri (if he ever plays basketball again), Keyonte and Nurk.

Players also try harder when there's something at stake (like the playoffs).

We can compare our roster to 2023-24 season when our starters in our December/January hot stretch were Dunn, Sexton, Tech, Collins and Lauri and our bench unit was Clarkson, Key, THT, KO and Kessler.

Remember that was "sophomore slump Kessler" and 29.4% 3 point shooting slumping Clarkson (who still got 30mpg of pt) with rookie-version of Keyonte. It was also "The hunger games" -year when we started like hot garbage and our guards were sabotaging us bad for the first 20 or so games.

Despite missing perimeter defenders like Dunn and Tech, I could see this years team performing equal or better than that team in the results column, and that team was .500 before they started shipping guys out.
