What's new

Is anybody else scared that Corbin will give Foye more minutes than Burks?

Burks has earned it. He's played better than Foye (and Tinsley, and debatably Hayward). Curious to know what you're talking about.

You all make good points but I'll quote NUMB for being concise.

I'm not worried at all about a professional coach making decisions we might not like. Foye has played like **** but that doesn't mean Burks has shown Coach he has learned how to play within the system. I also wouldn't mind keeping the kid raw and hungry, but then again he seems like the most driven guy out of this young foursome so that might not be a necessary focal point for Ty.

Nevermind that Burks is better, seems that Corbin's thing is allocating minutes based mostly on experience.

I really really hope Burks plays more, but deep down I know Corbin is going to play Foye more.

Yea i am scared Burks will not get the minutes he deserve and these minutes will go to Foye. Foye is good shooter even though he sucked in the preseason matches but that's all. He is not a good PG for me but an undersized SG. So Burks gotta play well enough to take minutes as a SG cause no room for him to play as a backup PG.

I am not convinced that Burks has figured out how to make good decisions on the court consistently enough that I want him to have minutes.

This scary story is getting old. Anyone know some more scary stories.

Shhhhh...dont look at me...

Turn off the lights.

Is Foye going to be this year's CJ.

He seems to alternate good and bad games from the 3... so far.

I hope not, but lets see how things go when we play games that count.

I'm only scared about Ty forcing minutes for Carroll. I have faith he'll figure out the right minutes and rotations for The Four.

So far Burks is averaging 18 mpg and Foye is averaging 19.7. The only thing Burks seems to have done significantly better at than Foye is shooting.

Lol. Significantly better may be a bit of an understatement. 51% FG to 30% FGs. 75% 3pt to 30% 3pt.

3 rpg to 2 rpg. That's 33% more for Burks. I'd say that is significant, especially considering less mpg for Burks.

9 ppg to 7 ppg. Significant, especially considering less minutes for Burks.

These are reasons for Burks to play more than Foye, not less. The shooting difference alone should warrant 28 minutes for Burks to 10 for Foye if we're talking about "earning" playing time. Plus Burks is younger. If two guys are even, which they haven't been - clear advantage to Burks - tie goes to younger player.

Here's a ranking of the complaints for the whole year (given in order of the number of complaints):

1. something about Foye
2. something about Burks
3. something about turnovers
4. something about Big Al
5. something about Favors
6. something about Hayward
7. something about Kanter
etc.

Corbin should be in there somewhere, as many of the complaints will involve so-and-so getting too any or not enought minutes.

No. It's just you.

Half the board is pissed. It's not so much that Foye got more minutes. It's that Burks would've gotten a DNP if the game had been close. KOC needs to get on Ty's case. Ty seems to know what he's doing but he also seems to have a hard head sometimes like Ol' Jer. I realize Burks is still making mistakes but he's not going to learn unless he gets consistent minutes. Foye has proven to be a decent player but Burks' upside is miles beyond Foye and it's crucial at this stage of his development to give Burks the minutes. It's not going to affect Foye how many minutes he gets.

Prophetic.

Like others have said elsewhere, I'd rather see a backcourt of Foye/Burks. That being said, I'm going to wait at least 5-6 games until I get worried about Burks being buried on the bench. And I'm a huge Burks fan.
