Jazz Game Rumor, @ Sac 8PM Mtn.

I find it absolutely stunning a team of professional basketball players can go 10/21 from the line. Yikes.
WEll, I guess you can loosely call what Utah has a team. Only Charlotte has a worse record over their last 10 games. But cheer up, Jazz fans; we might have a chance to improve to 3-7 over the next 10.

I agree with you, but
The problem is there's no go to player. Al is the only one who can legitamitly go one on one and he sucked today. Who else do you draw a play for? Howard? He got a charging call late too. Sap? Oh no.
A pick n roll would've been the best play though.

this is exactly correct! it seems sometimes like people hate on al just because there's no better option on this team.

On TV I know I heard someone in back ground say check on Millsap (after a time out in the last few minutes) and then Favors comes in for him so he must have gotten dinged up and as much as I've enjoyed Millsap's play in the past, he was absolutely awful last night. When the best thing you can say about his play/time on the court is he was invisible that is very sad for him.
Again it's like he gets frustrated with some calls and just makes some stupid decisions to make it worse and then shuts down, the charge in the 1st Qtr was the beginning of the end. Did anybody see when he came back in the 4th a offensive rebound literally dropped in his lap and he somehow manages to not get his hands on it and then his man beats him down the court for a dunk while he's pouting.

Starters - 141 combined minutes. 5 combined free throws.
That's nice stat and all but I'll counter it with 11-22 FT shooting and say if they went would they have made them anyway?

Also meant to add on previous post I was happy that Millsap got taken out (if he's hurt not happy about that) and thought he didn't deserve to play as many minutes as he had.
After looking at the box score this morning it appears my emotions during the game skewed my vision, Millsap only played 24min. Favors had 25min Kanter had 17 and Burks had almost 20min so Ty did play the young'ns more minutes then I realized.

Whether they go in or not, it's a clear indicator of the passive offense of the starters.
What did you think of Kanter's minutes and play? I thought first half was good 2nd half still good but not as good as he kinda had his rookie mistakes of bringing the ball low again as well as getting blocked a couple of times. Overall thought he played good for a rookie and thought his minutes weren't bad.

Also thought Favors had a similar night in that first half looked good 2nd half he missed some shots he normally makes but was usually out there hustling and rebounding.

Another bright spot was Burks for sure he earned that 20min and hope that continues.

I like his hard-nosed defense/play. At this point, win or lose, I just want players on the court that look and act like they give a damn.

Burks and Kanter are quickly becoming my favorites on the team. They go out there and you can tell that they care. Also it really pissed me off when Ty yanked Hayward in the 3rd as soon as he started tog et it going (Nice assist to Millsap and 3 buckets in a row). His problem is confidence so you yank him as soon as he starts to build momentum?

I was thinking the same but Howard was also playing well and it was getting late in the 3rd Qtr and some of the starters did need to come out for a rest. So Ty may have been thinking, take him out on a positive note so he feels good about himself and ready to contribute when he puts him back in the 4th.

I just see it different. Let him finish the quarter strong. As for Howard playing well, that's great and all and it is good when he plays well but Hayward has more to do with the future of this franchise than Howard does. So I'd go with Hayward getting his **** together over Howard.

Well, from what I saw - for me it's obvious that we lost because of Al Jefferson. He just ruin the whole game.

I enjoyed the game only when 2nd team were on the floor.

How about the body language on this team? Milsap and Al for sure have the slumped shoulders and get glossy eyed when they are on the bench. Hayward looks like he is worn out and about to cry. CJ has a furrowed brow even when he is on the court. They all walk slow back to the bench.

ANd how about Corbin? His body language is terrible too. Last night he just stood there on the sideline, he wasn't even talking to his players. I noticed because of the contrast with Coach Smart...he grabbed jimmer and was coaching. Ty looked detached and resigned (not re-signed mind you).

Yep. While watching the game, I was like, why in the hell does;

Harris always have that stupid smirk like he's disinterested/pouting.
Al and Sap just loiter (maybe there should be a sign on the court that says, "No Loitering.")
Corbin .. deer in the headlights ..

and more, but I tire ..

Not trying to sound like a Ty apologist just wanted to say he was doing this last year and some this year and he did pull Favors aside and talk to him before cutting away to a commercial. Not sure if he's not doing it as much because he trying not to wear down the players or picking his spots or what.
I also remember people complaining earlier this year of taking the player to the side speculating he was belittling him, damned if he does damned if he doesn't. Suck is life when the Jazz are losing

Is it just me or has Al been allergic to getting to the foul line, feels like he get's there only once or sometimes none like last night. Seems strange for a guy who uses the pump fake as effective as he does that he can't draw shooting fouls.
