Jazz Just Signed Trevor Booker According To Woj

Is it obvious that DL has a clear plan and is building a team with specific player types and talents. This is just one more step in the plan. May be good and may be bad but none of the moves like this and Novak - and then letting Marvin walk - are not being done without a lot of forethought.
I think we see the plan unfolding in the summer league: surround a good defensive post player with four guys who can shoot and preferably handle the ball. What was so impressive about Hood last game was not just 7-10 on his 3-pt shots, it was his drives into the lane and assists. He's such a great passer, as are Exum and Hayward and Burke. Unselfish motion offense and great effort on defense.

Spurs should pick up boozer.

He would be fantastic in their system.

Plus, he wouldn't be expected to do much. The spurs turn broken or rejected parts into players.

I would like to see Boozer on the Spurs just to see what would happen and how Gregg Popovich would utilize him. Though I have a feeling he'll sign with Miami.

Not opposed to this signing. However, did we really need to ink him for $5M to get him?

I'm not sure of his real value as I've not seen him play much, but according to Locke's free agent spreadsheet he is the cheapest PF signed so far this summer.

I'd take Murphy over Evans. Evans doesn't provide anything but energy and you can get that from any young player.

Are you kidding? Murphy is one of the most useless players I've ever seen. What exactly does he do even competently?

Evans can't provide anything that Trevor Booker can't. Trevor Booker is actually pretty athletic. No he can't jump out of the gym but Booker is better at everything else.

Evans will just be sitting on the bench doing nothing. He won't play. If we keep him great. but I think he deserves some minutes on some team, but its not ours now.

Evans is fine for his role. An energy guy who can do some things on a given night if he doesn't get more than 10-15 minutes a game. He's actually improved his mid range game since coming into the league.

I like the signing, it's another guy that is a great team mate and can show the young guys what to do. He won't contest with minutes like Novak, but can be a nice filler player. He'll play hard, give you his all, and probably won't complain.

I still am baffled as to why Carroll wasn't retained. He seems like the perfect teammate and just a guy every winning team seems to have.

pretty sure demarre was an unrestricted FA.
why wouldn't he leave to join a playoff-destined team only 150 miles from his hometown?
