What's new

Jazz @ Magic | Wednesday November 10th @ 5:00pm

Wow, Sloan reinserted Jefferson at the perfect time. Say all you want about Stan Van Gundy. He's easily in the top half of coaches in the league, but he got severely outcoached tonight.

This game was won at the line.
Jazz shot 25-28; Orlando was only 14-25. There's the margin of victory right there. That is the one ***** in Superman's armor - his kryptonite, if you will. Just like Shaq, you can foul Howard every time he gets the ball and has a decent shot. He's only going to make 50%.

Ok, I guess I know why the word I used was censored. A common word (and part of an oft-used phrase) that is unfortunately derogatory if used as a reference to a Chinese person.

Dude, Chinkaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please.

Uh, no. Sorry. I may get upset sometimes, and yes, Sloan does let opposing teams shoot threes a lot.
But I'm not going to respect anyone on Jazzfanz who is going to call our Hall-of-Fame coach "senile"
Get lost

Relax there, bud. I don't know where you think you are, but you're certainly not at the ESPN forum c. 1999-2002.

I agree. Nearly every adjustment Sloan has made the last 2 games have worked perfectly. From not being afraid to bench Al the whole 4th quarter in Miami to switching into the zone tonight, pretty brilliant.

What's the deal with Hayward ?

Is he on the doghouse ?

He does not even seem interested on the bench.

Seems like aftern the blow up with dwell, the team got better and hayward regressed

I would like to see us develop him by getting him 10-15 a nite. Not 3-5

Thoughts?

He's still young (only 20). His development process is going to take some time (much like CJ, although hopefully not as long). The team is better without him on the floor on this point. Being able to bench your lotto pick and still win ball games against some of the league's best teams is a good problem to have.

Sloan has basically cut the rotation to 6-7 players right now (6 tonight), probably for a few reasons. Foremost, we need to win games and are startin in the whole. He also probably wants to get a core who is familiar with each other for now, rather than just throw out a bunch of mish-mash lineups who can't play enough time together to adjust to each other. Hayward and the others will get more time later.

Kirilenko is making big plays out there.

Right now I think it's probably a tossup between CJ and Hayward out there. CJ hasn't made a shot it what feels like a week or two. While I guess he's slightly more proven than Hayward.

However, ever so quietly is Kirilenko having huge effects on these games. His clutch 3's, hustle plays, and assists have been huge.

I think Al's good showing tonight is an extremely good for us Jazzfans. He could have pouted after being benched, he didn't.

He carried us in the last few minutes. We all knew that someone other than Deron and Paul needed to show up. We desperately needed someone else to score. Fortunately, it happened to be big Al and his 3-4 shots he made in the final few minutes that kept us up. It's even more impressive since he did it against the league's best defender, Dwight Howard.

I think Al just needs some time.

I also think winning is starting to wear off on him. He's learning what it takes to win. That clutch put back he had is evidence of this. He found a way to get the ball into the hole.
