Jazz moving up in the draft?

Elephant in the room...

Jazz could just be making a PR move so that when they draft 2 backups they can tell fans, "well shucks guys. We tried to move up! It just wasn't in the cards!"

We have heard every draft that we are "aggressively" looking to move up. Every season we hear we are "aggressively" looking for ways to improve the team. Hasn't happened.

Besides, what else are the jazz supposed to say? We are sitting on our asses right now?

14 + 21 = 10

14 + 21 + 46 = 9 + 26

14 + 21 = 9 + 26 + bad contract (Ridnour, not all that bad)

Burks + 21 = 8 or 9

Burks + 21 = 7 + bad contract (maybe Outlaw)

Targets: Bennett, Burke, McCollum, Shabazz... Porter ?

Since when did this draft become one where anyone wanted to move up?

Like many others have already stated, why are we supposedly doing this? Is Bazz, Burke, or CJ really worth trading up for? At what cost? Isn't this the draft that you don't want to be in the top 10?

Top 6 .. because the talent should be much better than what's available.

After that, it's not a bad draft.

If there's a guy the Jazz want, and they have the means to trade up to get him, they will. This describes any draft.

That said, I think that the most valuable player in our range is actually Steven Adams.

That's fine. But unlike many posters here, if we crack the top 10 I'd be more inclined to draft big than to draft a guy like Burke or CJ.

Makes sense. Some of us, myself included, have fallen in love with the idea of drafting a PG.
When it's all said, and done this might not have been the best draft to do that in. Drafting on need
could be a huge mistake.

Are you thinking more Noel or Adams?

Well whoever we trade up to grab will need to be BPA. It doesn't matter whether it's big or small, as long as they're BPA, we'll be fine.

Don't fall into the trap the Kings fell into last year when they drafted TRob ahead of Lillard.

Be shocking if they are aren't trying to move up. We don't need a 14 and 21 given the amount of young uns already in the fold. And I think they and most teams do try and move up every year but very difficult to pull off. I don't think it has ever been a PR move.

I would normally agree, but I just don't know who you move up for.. it seems that having the assets may be better than whomever you're targeting.
I'd really like to see Muhammad.. he's just got so much scoring punch from the SF position.

It's the BYU syndrome. 1/2 the fanbase hears their football team talk about impossible things, such as Heismans, National Champions, BCS bowls, etc and it never happens...yet they are trained to buy the hype (like this year, there are a lot of BYU fans that think Hill will be better than Tebow). Too much fantasy, not enough reality.

We better not be using Burks in any trade. We won't get fair value for him.

I agree. I don't know why Burks is currently getting such a bad rap from the board currently, but in terms of ability I see him still as being the equal of any picks outside the top 10.

Man I hope this aggressive action works out better than the aggressive action at the trade deadline, and the aggressive moves last off-season, and the aggressive actions to buy into the 2012 draft, and the aggressive action at the 2012 deadline and the.......

Maybe Lindsey is still a Rocketman at heart and he is just trolling us. Think he ever posts on Clutchfans?
