Ok in that case I would tend to agree. BTW 1 year of tanking (what I call players development), is more than worth it for a chance at Wiggins/Jabari.
Without Jefferson there will be plenty of minutes to go around. Favors and Kanter will probably be in foul trouble all the time anyway.

maybe the jazz just wanted to give him 1 last chance to say hed play off the bench?
Especially since the only way a mediocre coach wins a title is with an overwhelmingly talented roster.

Realistically Kanter and Favors are going to get 33 minutes a game at most, that leaves 30 more minutes we need at PF and I don't want to see Marvin Williams get that much burn he is a bum. Evans would be demolished at PF. Gobert probably won't be ready for anything and is a pure center. We would be razor thin and an injury would have us scrambling to pick a D league player up. The Jazz need another PF, they did not trade Millsap for a reason.
I think it'd be cool to have Sap back. I would also prefer him to start at PF. I like Kanter just as much as everyone else, but he's still very young and inexperienced and would be better coming off the bench. Mostly because he's a bit of a ball stopper on the block (he'll learn to pass, he's smart) and then he can also work the pick and roll with Burks/Burke, which shows some good promise.
Sap's defensive deficiencies will be severely lessened with Favors playing at center IMO so it won't be as bad. However, it would be awesome if he would rebound like he did when he came into the league. Millsap will also spread the floor better and with possibly Mayo, Hayward, Millsap out there Burke may be able to start due to his shooting. I kind of see a method to the madness, this lineup has potential for terrific spacing, which = points

I see this as a tough decision. I really didn't see Kanter as starter material last year. Dude get blocked a ton. And Favors better hope Malone helps him get a couple more moves around the basket. If they could get Sap back for a decent price I'd bite. I know there's folks here who say Corbin loves vets, but if you can't beat out the player in front of you in practice you shouldn't start in the game, no matter how much potential you have. Big France is only ready for a few minutes a game, so even if they don't sign Sap they need at least one more solid big. After Sap I'd say Robinson makes sense...
Stop with all this mentoring stuff. Both Favors and Kanter already have a work ethic, besides Millsap barely even talks to people. His personality is not that of a rah rah leader.
I wouldn't give Millsap anything more than a 3 year deal with a team option. I would also tell him that eventually he will have to be ok with being a 6th man off the bench. I would even try to sell it to him up front. However, at the start of the season he may be starting until Kanter recovers fully from his injury. The contract shouldn't be more than eight million a year.
