He's already starting to show what he can do offensively. Imagine what he could do in 1-2 years time given starter minutes.

Defensively he's already better than 90% of the league.

Plus he's a keeper. He's not a Cousins type player who you have to worry about.

No, they assumed that he might grow taller then he was at the time. Remember, at that time we had 3 PFs that were all considered "undersized" and Okur was not a true 5. Jazz fans were obsessed with size, length and shot blocking.

Huh? he was listed as 7' to 7-1' ... wrong.

It was more because at that time too many incorrectly attributed great post defense to how many blocks are in the box score.
