With the 34th pick the Los Angeles Lakers select Chris McCullough, power forward, Syracuse.
The Lakers are ecstatic to land such a prospect in the second round. McCullough was projected as a lottery pick in the beginning of the season, but several weak games and an ACL injury saw his draft stock drop ridiculously low. I was going to pick him with 27 before I got the offer from Ellis, but this is just a no-brainer. BPA! Huge potential, great measurables, great athleticism, offensive versatility, defensive versatility(2.5 steals and 2.5 blocks per 40) make him a great pick for the Lakers. He is still raw and probably will nurse the injury until about September and might spend some time in the D-League while he gets in shape post injury recovery, but our front office believes with Chris we got one of the steals of the draft.
