Kings Trade Cousins to the Pelicans

Cousins and AD both have insane usage rates. They are going to have to change their games.

Cousins is becoming a really good passer this season, AD is a very good shooter, they should work in theory.

It's not that he isn't going to re-sign with anyone, but that he wouldn't give that commitment at this point. Anyone trading for him was gambling on re-signing him. No doubt they could have gotten a lot more if he would have done a handshake deal.

Nope. This was a terrible trade for the Kings. That team sucks because of bad management, not because of Cousins. If they wanted to improve the franchise, should have traded their owner and kept boogie. Dude is going to be a beast when he's on a winning team and all the head case talk will prove to have been overblown.

When all is said and done, there won't be a GM in this league that doesn't wish they would have taken this gamble. It is a gamble to re-sign him though, which is why I believe they had to sell so low. If they can't re-sign him, this will have been a bad move.

When he is getting on a winning team? This New Orleans teams isnt going to win unless they can actually sign some decent FA's. I wonder if the Pelicans have thought about how this might affect them re-signing Jrue. What if Jrue has a negative experience with DMC? He leaves and then what? They have two great big men and a god awful team. They won't make the playoffs this year and I don't think they make it next year with how much Denver is trending up.

It's unbelievable how much people overate DMC. The guy hasnt made the playoffs ever and is a toxic presence. The Kings should have gotten a deal done way earlier, but what's done is done. They deserve some credit for finally trading him.

Cousins is a good shooter, too, for someone his size. He's shooting 35% from 3 on 5 attempts per game.

He isn't a great passer, he just had the ball all the time in SAC. He also turns the ball over a ton. I think Cousins has the 2nd highest usage rate in the NBA and Davis might be in the top 8.

Cousins must really be toxic to get moved for that package. The Pels are obviously banking on re-signing him.
