I have misgivings even now. .. .. my kids are ten and already claim to understand why I don't like Shirley Temple. . . . but when I'm not looking they still slip the DVDs in and watch them. I think they love music.

I think the whole Shirley Temple saga was a deliberate attempt by the robber barons to rehabilitate their reputations in the public eye.
