which brings up a pleasant note on the day. I had a nice chat with an accomplished (published) author of children's literature. I'm gonna get some autographed books for my kids.
That's cool. Who was it? I've always wanted to write a children's book.

"Memries,Who remembers those pastel colored candy dots that you'd eat off strips of paper? I remember thinking they were so cool when I was a kid. Now all I can remember is how you'd end up eating paper as much as you'd eat candy, and the candy didn't even taste like anything anyhow, and I really don't understand how they could be the least bit appealing.

You're on jury duty?
Is she the one who wrote the Amelia Bedelia books? I know that name...

I remember my parents giving us each a quarter and we would ride our bikes to 7-11 and get "penny candy." Occasionly, we'd buy something from the next row up (5 cents), but then it never seemed we were getting as much so we usually stuck with just those individual pieces of candy on the bottom shelf. Waxed lips and mustaches were always popular, as was the cigar-shaped pink gum.
