Lose Jefferson

The guy is such a terrible passer and lazy defender that I think he needs to go. If we could dump Al and CJ and get a good 2 guard I think this would do us well. I believe Favors and Fes could do well at center for us.

I get sick of watching Jefferson being lazy and slow on D, and shooting his push shot when no one is available for a rebound.

Favors and Fes would be a great defensive frontcourt but would be lucky to average 20 points between them as starters. So where would the offense come from? Millsap is a good opportunistic scorer but will never get you more than 20 a game. Miles will always be inconsistent as hell. While I don't see Jefferson fitting in long term he is a necessity unless the Jazz can get a prolific scoring wing like Danny Granger for him.

Saying millsap will never get you over 20 a game is pretty damn big claim imo, seeing as hes pretty darn close in his first starting season. There is absolutely nothing wrong with millsaps offense in my opinion, its his defense and rebounding that really makes things difficult for the Jazz team. As far as CJ miles consistency goes, we are paying him a very fair amount so as the years pass I feel like hell mature slowly, its not like were sacrificing a huge amount of money for him. I really like Jefferson, and I think that with Andrei's contract now over we can finally afford another premier player on the sqaud, so we dont necessarily need to give up one of our players to get another. Well I hope so, at least.

the thing with jefferson is, he scores more to weak teams, but i never saw him putting a solid performance against tough teams, but millsap does, as much as reliability he has with his size, he deserves 7 million a year, but jefferson doesnt 15 per yr. I would be happy to see him leave if we can get a good deal in a trade or smthng. But i really dont think Fesenko can be a backup or whatever. He should go play basketball in ukranian amateur league. And miles, if he keeps his current performance, i would rather see him stay, because he can create his own shot or score with the dribble, we need some individual scorers as well, right now we dont have any.
I think, we should pick enes kanter in this draft along with brandon knight, with couple of trades to go up if they dont fall down to us. So that we wont need jeffersons scoring, and enes can start with favors while millsap get major mins off the bench. This would be a cool front line. And we can keep kirilenko with a 7-8 p/yr deal if we send jefferson. With a line up, Knight, Hayward, Kirilenko, Enes, Favors and watson, miles, evans, millsap off the bench, we can enter playoffs next yr right away, and be a contender in 2-3 yrs i believe

May be in a year's time, but not right now.. Our front court isn't thin on body, but it's thin on experience. You put Favors and Fes together and you get inexperience that will rival Wizards' front court.

I think Jefferson has improved quite a bit this year. He's looking to pass more, he's a better passer. His jumper is money most of the time. I say give Jefferson and Favors another year to develop together and re-evaluate.

Where did the sudden Fes-love come from? Really? One game out of 76 or whatever that is played ok in a losing cause and he is suddenly the "solution" at center. Really?

This is an april fool's thread, right?

Since the all-star break AJ has been one of the top 5 if not top 3 players in the league, hands down. Almost 3 blocks per game, over 10 boards per game, over 55% shooting and 25 pts per game. In a center we have never had that.

So get rid of AJ and keep Fes as his replacement.

28 points against Boston? 26 points and 33 points versus Chicago? What about 32 points on OKC and 30 points on Dallas?

Get the facts straight before posting.

agree with the Fes part, but i think numbers show AJ more than what he is. I still think he cant be the best big guy in a championship team. If we wanna have a playoff team as we were in the last 3 4 yrs, i think with 2 good additions from draft, lets say perry jones and b.knight, we can already make playoffs next year. We dont have a superstar right now, but we have lots of good players. The thing is we need 1-2 guy who can lift the team against best teams in the league.

46 vs miami, 23 and 22 vs orl, 30 vs okl
well these are the only big games we won this year, ahhh,, and LA, well he didnt play that well against LA. but its ok, since he doesnt get 15 p/yr

No we should not get rid of any of our three bigs. Why not have a deep front court. We were deep at wing and KOC decided to get rid of them look at us now? Lets build on what we have we need a slasher and a shooter to take pressure off of our bigs. Then we will really see Big Al's skills. Our bigs are poor on D because they are constantly getting out of position to cover for the lack of any wing D. Don't blame just one player it is a poor scheme that we run.

This creeps me out first look at the dude with the strangers mask in the back ground. Second all the little girls just watching in the back ground. And Third because you know that Sarah Palin is trying to form her own Army of soon to be Mama Grizzles to take on the brain washed Obama Socialists.

So now we're blaming Jefferson? At least Al wants to win. How could anyone complain about his defense after having Boozer here? Besides as young as he is, if he puts in work during the offseason he will develop the game that he is lacking. On thing that players cant be taught is DRIVE. You either have it or you dont. And Al Jefferson wants to win. Lets surround him with some winners and see what happens.

I say we get rid of any player that has scored more than 20 in a game this year.
It just shows they are ballhogs, and black holes... and cannot pass.
Lets get some real players on the floor that can defend, and pass..... and not score.
5 Mark Eatons would be my Dream Team.

Additionally, if you look at his last year in minny, he scored well against the tough teams as well. His performance with the Jazz is same as before.

Big Al is a keeper.

Moderators, please merge this thread with the "Jump to conclusions mat" thread.

Some of you are definitely contending for a spot on the mat.

One thing that really bothers me is about Big Al is that when he has been putting up huge numbers recently, the Jazz have been losing, and often badly. I cannot remember this ever being the case. The Jazz almost always won if DWill scored 30. Seems like they lose more often than not when Al has a big game, suggesting he makes others around him worse rather than better.

He`s kindof Carmelo-like in this regard, putting up big numbers, but that`s it.

hmmm... now that I think about it a bit more..

I do remember that the reason KOC traded for Al in the first place was because Deron has asked for Al in the offseason..

Now that Deron is gone, may be we can rebuild around another player who would fit the system better?

If we could get a savy big who would pick up the system relatively easily (Gasol, Kaman?) I would do it...
