I don't know, maybe I'm in the minority here but this "anniversary" celebration is kind of sad. What are we celebrating? The team that almost won the championship? It makes our franchise look desperate.
Last year they invited like the 84 team iirc. Should they rip down the Malone statue out front because he didn't win a championship? I think it's cool for the franchise to invite former teams back.

Why do they want it to coincide with the Knicks being here?
Has Karl publicly commented on it, or just Kay? Pretty dumb of the Jazz to hold this event without Karl. All they needed to do was make 2 phone calls prior to picking a date...
Well, Malone's ties to the Jazz were primarily through Larry and Jerry. There is no one in the current Jazz organization that Malone gives a whit about. The fact that the Jazz refused his offer of help with coaching or player training had to offend him, so why should he care about a Jazz promotion?
Be content with our memories and move on.
The 20 year reunion of the team that finally got us over the hump in the playoffs and to the Finals after years of disappointing playoff endings. Which might not be as big as a championship but it was the biggest moment in team history.
They're celebrating people who put in a lot of effort to help shape and maintain this Jazz organization we all love so much. To me, it makes the franchise look like they appreciate everyone who plays a part.
Only 1 date they can do it, when the Knicks come to town.
Got us over the hump? The collective hump for all teams in the playoffs is a championship. Period. This is blatant lowering of the proverbial bar. If you make the finals and don't win the chip, it's still disappointing. All this franchise has had is decades of disappointing playoff endings.
Did you enjoy watching those teams? Good lord dude, just let people celebrate a good team.
Would you rather do it without Horny or without Malone? Let's be honest: If you're holding a reunion for that team, there's only 2 guys that absolutely have to show up. Anybody else is icing on the cake. Why not just wait until next year when Horny is unemployed?

I wonder if they'll be passing out orange slices to all of those that attend.
