Mavs or Warriors? Who do we want 1st round?

Who do you want in Round 1?

I wouldn't blame GS for tanking to play us in the first round.

If we are forced to play all four quarters we lose to whoever… if Quin can find some loophole that allows us to just play 3 we sweep.

For me, it all depends on Steph. If he's 100% healthy then I would definitely rather face the Mavs.
Yep. I picked Mavs because I'm assuming Steph is good to go.
If Steph isn't ready then obviously we would want the warriors

The Mavs aren't as athletic defensively as the Warriors. They also aren't as potent shooting from mid-range as the Warriors would be with Steph, Klay and OPJ. Jalen Brunson wouldn't be able to stop Mitchell or Clarkson when they're matched up. If the Mavs go small with DFS at the 5, the Jazz should be able to dominate in the paint. So on paper, the Mavs would be a better matchup for the Jazz.

However, if Steph is going to miss games, the Warriors aren't going to win a series, imo.
This.
Great post

The Jazz should play the team whose defenders allow Mitchell, Conley and Clarkson to be successful scoring the ball. Obviously, the first choice would have been Denver. All of our guys look good scoring against Denver.

Whichever team Donovan shoots best against is the team the Jazz want to play.

Good to see you again fish.

I feel like this forum desperately needs your positive vibes.
Thanks bro. Just got back from a cruise. Currently sitting in LAX
Couldn't get any info on the jazz games while on board the ship. Looked this morning and I think I missed 4 games. Easy win against thunder, overtime thriller win against Memphis (with no Morant), and 2 bad losses when we had big leads in the 4th. Is that about right?
Looked like Conley and gobert played really well in these 4 games (especially gobert), bogey was ok, Mitchell was very poor efficiency wise, Royce sucked and the bench wasn't good enough.

Not very encouraging heading into the playoffs. I think we can't beat either team but my confidence isn't very high.

Haha, you missed more than a the games. There was massive drama regarding Mitchell not passing to Gobert. All over NBA twitter, all over jazzfanz. Quin came out to the media and went on a 19minute rant about how that stat had no context and everything is wonderful and we're doing everything right.

Yeah, this sounds fake but it’s not. Jazz PR came out with a campaign to get Royce on the all defense team and they used MelotheJazzKiller stats, then Quin used MTJK stats to say there weren’t any fourth quarter meltdowns and said saying Rudy and DM had a problem was irresponsible. And they sometimes eat at the same table. Then the next day Quin told the media something like “so my numbers were wrong but my point still stands” after he got fact checked.

I think the Jazz are preparing to play the Mavericks, and that stunt they pulled in the last Mavs game where Gobert was held out 30 mins from gametime was part of their gamesmanship.

Oh man. That's not good. It's definitely true though and has been all year. Donovan needs to feed Rudy more (the whole team does tbh) and it's obvious as ****

You're killing it Steve
