This is who I would like to see at SF from the '12 draft. (For all you haters, I would say the same thing if he were Duke/UNC bound)

New video of Gillie. He's of the highest character. Couple quick facts most don't know.
- His dad was killed when Michael was only 3 years old (there's a Lion King movie story in there, for another day). After that, his uncle became his father figure in his life.
- (read) Only minutes prior to his announcement of his college choice, with family all around, his uncle collapsed of a heart attack, of all people in attendance, it was Michael who performed CPR for 18 minutes before ultimately having his uncle die in his arms. He was asked (obviously) if he wanted to postpone the video conference, and he said, "No, my uncle and my father would both want me to continue to live my life to the fullest." Ugly shot though. I like Gilchrist a lot but the Jazz probably need to go with a shooting SF in the 2012 draft. I still be thrilled if we got him though

He would be a nice addition, but I'm still holding on to hope for Harrison Barnes.

Alot to like about Gilchrist - although Harrison Barnes is still the guy for me. As a Duke fan - that's not easy to admit but I saw a light flick on around February for him and he looked like a completely different player than the one who started the season. Maybe it was the PG-change, but he looked like a player who suddenly "gets it." Like his skill-set and love his intangibles but I'll be watching Barnes closely next season to see if he improves his drive-game and willingness to take it hard to the rim.

There's a decent chance the Jazz will have their own lottery pick as well as the G.S. pick in the 8-14 range. In addition to Favors and Kanter both being inexperienced and essentially unproven - another good reason to hang onto Millsap and Jefferson this season is they are both 2 additional assets you possess for the 2012 draft. Alot can change in a year's time, nobody expected Evan Turner and Gordon Hayward to shoot up draft boards during the 09-10 season.

I think there's a really good chance that if we end up with both our own pick and GS's, that we would do everything possible to package them together in an effort to move up. I really don't think management would want to add two more rookies on top of the young guys we already have. Hypothetically if we have picks 10 & 13, then I don't really see us being able to move up too much, maybe to 6 or 7 at best, but if we throw in a Millsap, then maybe we could get into Barnes range, but it'll be tough.

This is why part of me wants a shortened season. If we play 50 games and let the the youngins get time, then hopefully we'll be killing two birds with one stone, by giving our young guys quality minutes while at the same time getting a better draft pick.

For one thing big hole for future right now is PG. So lets hope there is a great PG where we draft.

So you are saying the reverse might be true for Barnes--that he will slide down the boards next year. If he kind of stinks do we really want him? Hoping to get our PG of the future next year.

I don't disagree about Barnes. I guess I was talking what I perceive to be in the realistic range. I know some believe Barnes could slide to 6 - 10 .. I'm not one of them. I'd be really surprised if he's on the board after 3.

I disagree, I think you package the lower draft pick and a player like Harris/Millsap for a top 5 pick. Assuming we get pick 10 for our pick and like 11-14 for the GS pick, we could easily package the GS pick with Millsap or Jefferson for a high draft pick preferably in the top 5.

Then we draft both our SF and PG of the future like Gilchrist and Kabongo.

Then we have 14 (Jefferson's contract) + 10 (Okur's contract) = 24 million dollars of cap room.
