Most improved player next year?

I don't know if this has already been discussed but I think there is a decent chance one of our rookies last year could be the Most Improved Player for 2011-2012. Both Hayward and Favors had underwhelming rookie seasons to start, but we all saw how they finished the season strong. I would think Hayward would have a better chance because I could see him getting more playing time next year.

I'm not sure what kind of stats they would have to get, but if you compare the stats from this year with the stats from the upcoming year, there should be a drastic difference, especially for Hayward.

Am I just being a homer or is this a realistic possibility?

Has a Utah guy ever got MIP?

I know there's been a recent backlash in the media about giving the MIP to a second year player. Players that become decent players in the league always improve dramatically from their rookie season to their second season, so I doubt Hayward and Favors win the award even if they play very well.

I think it's going to be me. I've been working hard on my3 point percentage and adequately finish at the rim better then ever.... wait, what?

He couldn't shoot coming out of college and was quite successful on his fifteen footers his rookie year. I guess Durant is a Lazy *** Cancer, too, since he hasn't improved his weakness.

This x a million. And as someone mentioned before, not everyone can gain weight. In fact, at the weight Evans was at I was thrilled with how many boards he got. He boxed out every time and busted his ***. If he can't improve his weight, then he can definitely still improve his skills. He developed a jumper, showed ability to block shots, has a nice push/floater type shot in the lane and the rest are crazy dunks and alley oops. And teams can always use a great team guy/energy guy for that little of a price.

Guys more likely to win:

DeMarcus Cousins, Danilo Gallinari, James Harden, John Wall, Paul George, DeMar Derozan, Austin Daye, Greg Monroe.

It's absolutely ridiculous to want a guy off a team because he's not at 220. Probably one of the most ridiculous things he's said, and it's Thriller of all people, so that's saying a lot.

I think you all are overlooking Ronnie Price.
He will go back to Sacto and dominate.
I think he might even dunk on Boozer again.

Nor does it appear, which is my main point, that many of you are interested in his work ethic.

Folks, what I'm talking about is his work ethic. He went into this offseason needing to put on more weight and develop some skills. If he doesn't do that, then I think we'll know a lot more about him than we think. And it ain't good folks.

We cannot have any more lazy asses who get by with their athleticism. (Like AK has done his entire career). We're trying to build a championship team, right? Everyone needs to be working on and improving. Everyone.

Sure, AK and Evans can dunk good. But lets focus on the big picture here. We don't want any more lazy *** cancers.

You must be trying to forget this last season pretty hard if you don't remember the Coaches saying multiple times that Evans worked as hard as anyone this year trying to improve his shot and strenght. He put in extra hours in both the weight room and on the court shooting with Hayward. He came out of collage with his coaches saying that he works his butt off. I know a lot of people who cant put on weight no matter what they do. I have a brother in law that is 5'10 and about 135 pounds. He lifts, drinks protean shakes and eats like crazy and still can't put on any weight. And he is in his late 30's.

To say that Evans just isn't working hard because he doesn't come back 15-20 pound heavier is just stupid.

Evans best bet is work on his jumper and acquire some dribbling skills to play SF. He will never have the weight to play PF, even if he gains 15 lbs he will still not be able to hold his ground on most power forwards.
With AK likely gone and possibly CJ, I expect Evans minutes will be jacked next year, splitting time between PF and SF. He could easily be the most improved.

Cut the ties? Why? Keep him on the bench as a quick burst energy guy if he can be afforded.

Agree. Absolutely nothing is expected from him. He was a 2nd-rounder. Most of those guys never even make a roster. I know, I know...Boozer was a 2nd-round pick and so was Millsap. How many of those guys are there? Maybe 1 a year?

Evans is a hard-worker and by all accounts a pretty good guy. You gotta have 12-13 players on the roster. Why not a player like Evans who demands no PT, but gives solid mins when he's called upon?

If he doesn't improve on his weaknesses, what else is there to infer?

that no matter what he does, his body rejects his weight gain efforts. trust me, its much easier to lose weight than to gain, specially if your body does not cooperate. lazy *** cells

What would be cool is if Hayward is the most improved. Our draft pick is rookie of the year and millsap accepts his role and becomes 6th man of the year. Corbin gets coach of the yr ( kind of a slap in the face to Jerry ) don't think we have a player that could compete for player of the year though.

I never said Evans should be a star. It's just that having him out there is a liability.

I know he dunks real good and everyone seems to just remember the dunks. But no one seems to remember the rebounds and defensive possessions he gave up because he's just too light out there. Nor does it appear, which is my main point, that many of you are interested in his work ethic.

Yeah. Evans is a lazy-*** cancer.

Fesenko = MIP. Give him 25 minutes per game and he will be thought of as a key to the Jazz rebound that would ensue. He would not have big enough numbers to win it, maybe 8 and 8, but he would be mentioned. Jazz just gotta realize that his lack of offense should not matter, just like with miami and dallas and their centers. Both teams in the finals, gotta protect the paint, something Al and Sap are incapabale of.
