There were some people here before Amerigo Vespuci drew his map. What we gonna call the newbs? What we gonna call the goners? The word "American" has lots of meanings to different folks, the unique government established here (not in Canada or Mexico) has been by many called "The American Experiment", because it is still unique in this world, with the underlying concept of being a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. A still unequaled experiment in human rights that has moved forward in many respects to become more inclusive of more people.

My argument above is that humans have innate human rights to thought, to speech, to action within our system. We rejected the notion a while ago that a business or any public entity, whether private owned or cooperatively owned and managed, can reduce those rights in everyday operation. You can't post a sign on the storefront that says people entering here have to accept reduced rights. You can't post a sign saying "Progressives Only" unless you make it a private club and drop the pretense of being public as the term "JazzFanz" professes.

If you are a communist front, you are free to be that in this country, so long as you don't actually overthrow our government and then start killing the American Dreamers. Or whatever. imo socialism and communism are different from the "American Experiment">

The funny thing is that this message board is conservative overall. More people here are LDS conservatives than anything else. And the person who runs it is LDS conservative. Not that that means the agree with babe, he is in his own category.

Babe just has to find an excuse for a reason people dont believe his ideas that are not based in truth. His standard of truth if it is what he thinks about a subject. He finds the best sources to be some random person he has a chat with that tells him their experience. Those things are nice but obviously very anecdotal.

I do love that he has some conspiracy about this message board and the people who run it. I am not sure what that is because his posts are too hard to understand but I find it a great read either way.

Also attacking someones fandom is pretty funny. Babe admitted that he didnt even watch the Jazz at some point last season but based his opinions on a family member who watched most of the games so he "knew" the facts about the Jazz. He does post in the Jazz section once or twice a year. Other than that he is busy in GD trying to push his agenda and repeat what he hears that day from his conservative talk jocks.

A site that is ostensibly a sports fan site which has such a determined political crew running things might actually be a sports site, but you should have a little of that "self-awareness" Siro references about what it can look like to others sometimes.

If this site exercised or tolerate political differences which might statistically resemble Jazz fans overall, I'd expect it to sorta look different. Romney might have a lot of fans in here, too.

I have been looking mostly at folks like Red, Bullet, yourself, Dal, Zombie in making the comment that it looks sometimes like a front organization for some progressive activist outfit, but hey, maybe it's too much of a push to prove it, and I really don't care to.

I am not going to write a book about the Jazz. I don't see any requirement in the Jazz rules that you must be a Jazz fan or jump so high when cheering. Nope, there is no set political crew. Most issues brought up have debate back and forth and all different directions. Just because they dont agree with you doesnt mean they are all on one side or share the same opinions. You just have your own unique set of rules for facts that make it almost impossible to have a real discussion with you about an issue. Plenty of people disagree with me on lots of things. My opinions are not popular on here. I get called out for things all the time as well, its no big deal and part of discussions.

I have yet to ever see anyone not be tolerated for having a different view. People who break the rules are not tolerated, but those are pretty basic. They are great people to hang out with. I dont agree with them on everything though.
