Not sure why everyone is disliking this.

If you want Kessler to develop his post game, it's not happening in his rookie season in the NBA.

If you want him to develop the other areas of his game, that can happen, but not the post game.
The GLeague is a terrible place to try to develop anything. It is a terrible brand of basketball where it's only beneficial use when sending guys down is to get them in shape. It is strange how many 2nd rd picks get sent to the gleague and they start out playing well and then regress steadily.

If that's what you want for him, he needs to be sent down. He isnt going to develop a post game not being given post touches.
Um, yes he will. He will develop it in practice and do it more in games as he gets more experience, I’m not sure how much a player develops in the GLeague. Ultimately he will get more out of playing nba minutes against nba players.

No it is a place that you don't develop and is a horrible brand of basketball. Particularly when it comes to big men. Very similar to summer league which is also a horrible brand of basketball.

It's been a great development spot for dozens of NBA players who have gone there and improved their game/confidence.

If you can get NBA minutes thats even better, but if you want him to develop an area of his game the Jazz arent going to develop him as, he's better off doing that in the G-League. The thing that was being asked was absurd. This team isnt posting up Walker Kessler.

If the G-League wasnt a good development tool, then why in the **** are the Jazz sending Ocahi Agbaji there?

How did Georges Niang takes himself from being a non-NBA player to a guy getting above league minimum contracts? There's plenty of evidence for the G-League being a success as a development tool and I honestly think it's still underutilized by most teams.

And as to the G_League, is it great basketball? No, but it is high speed basketball that resemebles how the NBA game is played more than college does. The G-League would help Kessler develop if the goal was to make him a higher usage post big. Or if you want him to start taking 3's in games. Or if you want him to try dribble drive stuff/playmaking. Etc. It's great place to try and expand your game.

I just highly doubt that's the vision for Kessler so the thing that was asked was absurd. The Jazz being as good as they are has kind of put a pause on free wheeling development of guys like Kessler/Ochai. Instead they are going to be a bit more pigeonholed into developing into roles.

Just heard Will Hardy on the radio. They asked him about Vando and Hardy answered "he's in"
