What's new

Game Thread Nov 30, 2025 01:00PM MT: Houston Rockets @ Utah Jazz

Added to Calendar: 11-30-25

I know HOU is supposed to be our rivals or whatever, but they are undoubtedly one of my favorite teams to watch. Their style is unique, they have a ton of talent, and they have a few personal favorites of mine.

Seems like there's very limited interest in the Jazz from the community.

This community, the Jazz subreddit, etc., are all so disengaged. Kind of sad.

I think it's important for Ainge or SOMEONE to lay out the 3-5 year vision. Because this is just rough...

Well, we were told there was a "10 year championship plan" and I think the majority of the community that heard that feels like we were lied to so far. That was almost 5 years ago. What REALLY feels like what's going on is there is absolute 0 direction on what they're really doing. Maybe the management, FO, and/or Ryan are pulling in different directions? Our draft picks outside of Keyonte, Ace, and maybe Flip aren't going anywhere. We're playing vets over letting our young players play and learn over their mistakes. I don't care if we're losing by 60. Everyone thought Svi was like a 13-15 dude at the beginning of the season and we started him day 1. You might argue the young players aren't ready and then I'd say, send them all to the Stars then (I guess we JUST started to do that) but we're almost a quarter of the season over now. If we miss the playoffs AND lose our pick this year, it will go down as the worst year of Utah Jazz basketball ever and there should be accountability somewhere in the FO for it.

We don't look closer to a championship, hell, we don't even look like we'd ever be a playoff team at the moment. What we don't want to be (and we are looking like it) is being the Wizards or Hornets of the West with the Kings

I wish Key was sick before the SAC game instead of this one.
The unfortunate reality is we need to out-stink the worst teams head-to-head if we want to keep the pick at this point because we need the power of the twofer (or BOGO as HH would say).

The only thing worse than being bad is being just bad enough at the worst point possible that results in dumping a top-8 pick to an emerging dynasty in what looks like a good draft. No Jazz fan will be happy with that outcome, ever, which includes right now.

There is at least any potential for upside in taking the medicine we can take. I find my own hopes in this team waning strongly at the current likely scenario that we lose the 9th pick because we had to pay the price for signing - then predictably dumping - the corpse of Derrick Favors. We’re on a pathway wherein we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the very worst way we could.

It’s depressing for everyone.
