What's new

Official 2023 draft night thread!

In my opinion High level passing is more about vision and decision making, which is one of the more difficult/unlikely things to develop.

It Whitmore just interviews like a normal draftee, he gets picked at 5. Then Ausuar goes 6th. Walker still probably goes 7th and then the Wizards have to decide between Bilal and Black.

Whitmore being a ****ing ******** cost us Black or Bilal. I'm crushed.

I think the word around the camp fire was that Whit pulled a Jalen Carter and couldn't finish workouts. If the vaping thing is true as well, that's a non-starter for a lot of teams. Reminds me of Robert Whaley for some reason, just change the legal issues for conditioning.

Guys have bad workouts all the time. It had to be workouts in tandem with bad interviews (and probably questionable medical).

Probably. I don't think the medical is as big an issue if it's his thumb. If the heart thing is true though, that's a red flag (not a yellow).

If it's workouts, he probably didn't finish them. It's one thing if your shot or handle is off. Not being able to finish is a red flag, particularly if he's got sucking up the flavored juice.

Well I am over my disappointment, mostly because I am always a little disappointed with the Jazz, too much speculation gets my hope up but I was fine with Hendricks just a little down on the other two picks because I never considered them during all the discussions. Now I will cheer hard for them and hope they all play in summer league and do well.

At 28, I’m not putting too much stock in Sensabaugh hitting. Figuring out which of those guys makes it is as random as it gets. But Keyonte George better be ****ing awesome. The Jazz desperately need him to become the very best version of himself possible. Jazz are loaded with combo guards and there’s an opportunity at the 1. Let’s hope Ainge and company found the right guy and go get it.

I know it's not the point to make the perfect lineup, but unless Keyonte George is James Harden this lineup just does not work:

Keyonte
Ochai
Hendricks
Lauri
Kessler

Not a good fit.
Looks fine to me.

Who you want to call the 3 and who you want to call the 4 means absolutely nothing.
Exactly. Thats a great situation to have that versatility and size at those positions. Good point.
