Official 2023 draft night thread!

Who's the passer in this lineup? Definitely not the guy who averaged more TOs than assists in college
Whoever Hardy decides. Or all of them. Passing is an easy thing to do. Grab a basketball and find another human and try to pass them the ball. Its super easy. Easier than dribbling or shooting.

The ball handler needs to be Luka Doncic for this to work. You've got 4 guys who don't play with the ball in their hands. I also think you're lacking a big wing defender. Ochai is too small, Hendricks is just OK on the ball and better away from it.

I don't really see Ochai as the starting SG of the future so I'm not bothered, but yeah, there's no creation in this lineup.
6'5" 220 isn't small.

Yeah, having Stockton level or Kelly Olynyk level passing is very nice. But still if it is emphasized in the culture and team it can improve for everyone.

Well, I probably could have figured this out last summer, but it's clear that the DA regime clearly values shot-taking/shot-making ability more than I do relative to passing and what we might often call "feel for the game" in a team concept. They really seem to have a thing for combo guards and seem to have some confidence in making the play-making work out somehow without a pure point. Hope their philosophy turns out to be the better one.

Plus 6'10" wingspan. Ochai has good size to play a 2/3 combo
He also has the right 220 lb body. Lots of muscle. He is a hard worker and quick with decisions.

It worked out last year. Dunn and THT had really good assist numbers.

Good/Great passing is an advantage. We just got to be atleast average and slowly build up our strengths. It will all come and it will get there as we get more talented.
