Official Game Thread: Kill the Hornets, 5pm MT

Plus Mack really limited his "cmon Mack" moments in the game when he was on the floor with Hayward as opposed to coming off and co-leading the 2nd unit.

Would you rather have Mack on the 2nd unit trying to do too much or just playing with the first unit? Exum is better at pressuring the 2nd unit ball-handlers too.

This reminds me of a choice I had to make recently where I had to choose between the lesser of two evils.

Seriously though there is not an option here that will make me happy. I just want Hill back in my life.

The biggest threat in this game is Kemba. I would try and put our best PG defender on him that we have available as much as possible. That is Exum. Mack is better at scoring on his own off the bench than anything else. Plus if he cant come off the bench and help much we have other options if he is playing bad. We know Exum can play with our starters well and be a good defender. We have seen that already for a decent chunk of games.

I don't have Mack Hate, either. But, damn, he's looked bad the past two games. Every turnover has been a "WTF!!"

At least he has either been really bad or super hot... this may be the 1 out of five where he kills it and wins us a game we are now supposed to... #hope

Ehhh, idk. It's kind of like when you have a shutdown corner you dont always put him on the #1 guy. Using Exum to hound the 2nd unit guys has worked great for us this season. I dont know if you want to come out the gate with your best defensive weapon on him, but I get that strategy. I dont think Exum can really slow down Kemba with how hot he is this season.

He's a guy who can make "bad" shots... those types give us trouble.

I would rather give him a chance and see. You can always switch who he is guarding later in the game. I personally want to see our staff push Dante and give him more chances. His rookie year he slowed down some great PGs at the end of the season. He has it in him.

If Exum was a shut down guy I'd start him in a second. I don't think that's what he is right now... he's good and surprises people with his length but he'd likely get in foul trouble quick. Roll with Mack and leave Exum where he's been successful. If he's doing well increase his minutes... if nothing is working go to Neto.

Is this a tough choice for Quin in terms of building confidence in Dante/Shelvin? Will Shelvin be pissed if he starts Dante? Would Dante appreciate the vote of confidence?

How bad can our med staff mess up this thumb injury? I'm only kind of kidding.

The injury is a bit concerning to me... I've had it and it doesn't feel right for a long time and it gets reinjured frequently.

I've had several thumb injuries and my first thought was they better hold him out until it's 100% healed.

I played with it on my off hand and braced it for 6 weeks after the pain had subsided. I reinjured it a couple times after I thought I was in the clear. Point is the Jazz med staff better be rehabbing this and better not mess up the bulldawg.

Damn, JJ with 16 years in the league. What a badass. So cool to watch an old master.

This is not a good analogy.
