They're similar in that they're complementary players, role players basically. I wouldn't say Battier is really lock-down, btw. I've never seen him lock down anyone really. Good defender though.

Battier was about as good a wing defender as the league's had over the last decade or so. Bowen was a stud. Kobe and Lebron weren't/aren't far behind. And Battier was right there with them or was just a hair behind.
 
Battier has almost no basketball talent, he's just a brilliant mind, is highly coachable, and plays hard. Hayward has the same tools that Battier has (minus some strength, but plus a lot more), but I doubt he ends up doing the things Battier did.

Hardly. Just because he isn't an athletic freak doesn't mean he doesn't have basketball talent. He is a great shooter and always has been.

Battier can shoot from one or two spots on the floor.... with his feet set. Same with Bowen. Nobody considers either "great shooters".... because they're not.

There is no such thing as a "tweener" between the 2 and 3 positions. Ben Gordon is a tweener, Hayward is a wing.

Hayward is a bench player. Cant shoot and cant finish at the rim. Yall only like him cuz he is white. If he was black yall would be calling him a bust but hes white so he gets a pass from jazz fans

People have said this crap forever about the Jazz. Now they have one of the blackest teams in the league, and people are STILL saying the Jazz favor white players.
