I voted for 'others'. Marshall is slow and Rivers isn't a PG.
PKM, what have you heard about Harrow? I really liked him when I caught him on the AAU circuit, but I'd need to see him do well at UK to consider him as the future of the Jazz at the PG position. His frosh year at NC State was underwhelming, to say the least.
I've said it in a few threads, and I'll say it again, there aren't any intriguing point guards in college that I've seen. We need to get one via trade/free agency. Our top target should be Ty Lawson, but there are about 5 more realistic-ish possibilities that would make us a playoff contender with their addition. I say if we end up in the lotto this year, trade both picks to denver for Ty.
It's interesting that people keep calling Hornacek as some kind or miracle worker.
I would hate to base a lotto pick and our future on someone who has some nice skills but will need to rely on Hornacek pulling a miracle out of his *** for the kid to really fulfill his potential.
Speaking of Hornacek, if he can't teach our current batch how to shoot, why would Marshall all of a sudden become great/good shooter under Hornace? You would all think that Hayward, Howard, CJ, Harris, etc would all be shooting 'better" because of Hornacek, right? Yet, quite the opposite is true.
For me, lets rely on what a player does already. Lets not base our judgments off hypothetical situations (example: well, what if Hornacek teaches the guy to shoot?). Lets draft the BPA and not rely on Hornacek to teach this guy skills that he should have ALREADY learned. IMO, if we need Hornacek to teach x player how to shoot, then we need to take a real hard look on whether he truly is the BPA. We should also explore avenues of trading away the pick/packaging it up for something better. But lets be real folks, Hornacek's influence has been little if anything on our shooters.
