Arguing over religion never gets anyone anywhere except mad or dead.

To be fair, not really arguing over religion at this point. Thread is turning into how much a moran/idiot/nutcase Conan is, and I'm constantly refreshing hoping for another one of his posts in this thread so that I may laugh.

I'll be a little easier on CONAN:
He's merely displaying the dangers of parsimony and common sense. Both wielded by all to varying degrees. He sees no reason to distrust either.

My dad has been Bishop twice. The first time he was released right before I turned fourteen. I don't have any memories of him not being around for things. He still managed to coach us in baseball and he ate dinner with us EVERY night. I have no doubt that required an even bigger sacrifice on hid part as he would have to do his Bishop stuff after everything else. I think what changed the most is that we probably didn't get to go camping as often. The second time was after I got married, so I have no real knowledge of it.

I want to make a comment about him playing poker with us but can't gather anything meaningful. I find it interesting considering the game, crowd, and what I would consider a typical bishop.

So what'd he tell you was the truth? Was it exactly what you'd been told by your religious leaders? How long was the conversation?
Wow. So many questions.

1. Yes (even though it's not always what I want to hear).
2. Depends on the context.
3. Depends on the context.

Can I just end this thread with the following true statement, from my mind to my fingertips, into your eyes and mind; and lo, The Trout sayeth:

When you die, you're going to be like, "Whateth in thine ****eth?! Trout and Conan were right! Damn, I oweth a lot of back Tithes.

We will all be snickering and pointing, but in the end, we'll put a hand down and welcome you into the light. (that's how we role, yo)
