Scanning the Waiver Wire

Does anyone think DL will be scanning the waiver wire when teams cut their rosters to see if someone in a position of need is available. Of course I'm thinking of point guard but there could be someone there who could be viewed as an upgrade at one of the other positions as well.

No, he's sitting in his bedroom watching Netflix until next offseason....

Such an idiotic post. Of course he is watching. He is constantly picking up and dropping playings that are the 12th+ on the team. Jingles....

I think, whoever we end up keeping at the end of the roster, will end up getting cut before their guarantee date. I think it will be another year of a number of 10 day contracts before we settle on who we like for the rest of the year at cheap.

What made me think of looking at the waiver wire was today's article about Jimmer in the Deseret News and all the talent in the Spurs camp and that he and Rasaul Butler were fighting for the last roster spot. I'm sure there are other teams who might have to cut a decent player.

Geeze man lol its not that bad of a question. I have been wondering the same question.

Most players at the end of the bench suck.

Most players artsy the end of the bench don't sell tickets and merchandise though

I don't think that would happen. You are just paranoid.
We (byu fans) know that he has sucked in the nba. We also trust that snyder knows what he is doing.

This was an awesome post. First you jumped to the defense of homey for asking what you have to admit is a pretty dumb question. I mean, what are the chances that DL isn't paying attention to the waiver wire? 0%

Then in your very next sentence you pile on homey for hinting at (not actually stating) an opinion which, while stupid, is at least debatable.

And Utah is one of those teams. We're now deep enough that guys we cut may get signed by others. I don't see us going through the 10-day cycle like last year when we had Hamilton and Murray at the end of the bench and ran through a number of guys to replace them and then replace Novak and Clark later on.

I think we can agree 13 roster spots are set:
Bigs: Gobert, Favors, Booker, Lyles, Pleiss
Wings: Hayward, Hood, Burks, Ingles, Millsap (likely)
PG's: Burke, Neto, Exum

Cotton is probably safe for now as DL and QS liked how he played last season after signing. So the final roster spot comes down to Withey or Johnson, I predict Withey because he gives Utah a rim-protector to back up Rudy. Different skill set than Tibor. And Utah doesn't need a 6th wing.

PG is the only position I could see DL making a move. But I think it far more likely that would come via trade than someone who gets waived.

Good post

Good post

I really wasn't trying to make this a post about Jimmer. It was more about someone getting cut and the front office thinking "Hm this guy is better than X at the ______ position." Sort of like this pickups last year of Jingles and the guy that got waived by Toronto. The other post about Little Sap made me think the guy may not be a lock to make the team.
