Sean Williams Headed overseas

EVERY player had problems playing for the nets last year. Wasnt a week that went by that someone was not bitchin. Losing does that to player. The Jazz are far to conservative when it comes to taking risks. The dude can block and rebound better than anyone else left. If he started acting up we could have cut our losses. He has upside and will be back in the league after dominating Euro ball.

Why would the Jazz want another undersized big man? Please, how will Williams help the Jazz as a 12th/13th man against a team like the Lakers?

I think a lot of people would consider Fes a risk. Williams is what maybe 6'9" Not big enough! Not to mention he is a head case. I believe he certainly would have increased the level of pot consumption on the team though. If we dont end up bringing back Fes, much rather go with a guy like Earl Barron.

Oh, and he's not talented either. An above average athlete, who's undersized for his position, with major behavior issues. I honestly don't see what this Nets-reject can offer us that horrible-Fes can't.

During the stretch in his career where he had a distributor (Kidd) and any kind of regular playing time, he was ****ing amazing.

I'm going to go ahead and say the Jazz blew this one. They absolutely need another big and they could do worse than to see if this kid's learned or if the negatives outweigh the positives for league-minimum-ish money. Early in the offseason, yeah, you pass on this guy, but at this stage he would've come cheap and desperate and the Jazz would be a perfect partnership in that regard (as they're cheap and desperate [or should be] as well).

A bit of an overstatement.

Im in total agreement we should of picked him up though, but looked around the league, no one else wanted him either.

I can give you 2.65 reasons why.
(As in 2.65 blocks per 30 minutes)

Oh, and he's still a young player, and has logged less than 2000 minutes in the NBA.

Maybe the "f-ing amazing" part is an overstatement, but Numberica even said that you pass on Sean Williams early in the off-season, and that he's worth the minimum. Still seems like an understatement, if any.

(I speculate that SW was offered the minimum by somebody in the NBA but was able to get several times that amount overseas. Josh Childress style.)

Archie is right on this one. The guy had red flags coming out of college and there's a lot of "headcase" smoke around the guy. If we can only have one goofball, I want Fes.

I actually like Sean Williams. Always have. But the fact is I would rather have Fesenko. And we already have Millsap and Jefferson to play the PF minutes. He would never see the floor.

So a guy who would never see the floor who has off the court issues......... Do we really want a guy like that around our young players? I don't just for that reason. Take risk on players who don't have off the court issues who won't get our other young players in trouble. I am sorry but people who say they are big boys have never hung out with a head case before. All my friends growing up were like that and I almost spent time in jail because of being with them. You never know what these guys will do when you are with them. And our young guys would hang out with him.

I would rather have a guy with Center length and is a good defender. Like MBenga. He is a far better option than Sean Williams.

Sean Williams could block shots, he could not hold his position to play center. Big difference. We have no need for a 6-9 230lb PF backup. Sap, Jefferson, AK, and even Evans should suffice there.
