Sensabaugh and Hendricks watch thread in gleague

No Tay Henny tonight in a Stars total collapse in the 4th quarter vs the Spurs JVs. Brice showed he could chuck and miss. Potter was gawd awful as was Langford. Jason Preston and Kinsey played well for the Stars and Juzang led the team in rebounds that got him a double double. I don't know if Tay Henny was hurt or sick, It might be time for the FO to reevaluate the two ways.

Interesting they started Ogenda over Potter.
 
Stars totally outclassed tonight by the DubJVs. Tay Henny and Brice played and both had 15 points needing a lot of shots to get there. Michael Devoe led the Stars with 19 points, Jason Preston was the leading assist guy and Potter, Tay Henny and Brice tied for the rebound lead with 7 each. Potter and Romeo Langford looked decent coming off the bench. Usman Garuba looked like a man amongst boys for the Dubs. He just destroyed the Stars inside. He is an interesting player. He and Josh Christopher were drafted in the first round back to back by the Rockets and both found themselves on the waiver wire after a multiplayer trade.

If the Jazz decide to go dumpster diving, Efrid Payton has had two triple doubles in the past two days (both wins) coming at the expense of our old pal Jared Butler. A player on the Mad Ants that might attract the FO's attention is Kyle Magnas. He is a four time small college all-american and averaged 29.7 ppg his senior year. He was first team all state in high school in Indiana as was Mike Conley Jr once. Homey just gots to Homey.
 
I hate to break it to you, but Tay Henny and Brice were pure garbage in the fourth quarter but Juzang hit a three pointer at the end to keep another choke job from occurring. Brice committed two turnovers and a shooting foul and Tay Henny committed another shooting foul in the final seconds. It's concerning that the Stars coach is pulling both in defensive situations. This should be development time. Langford, Preston and Potter were solid. Brice came off the bench and before the game the Stars traded Michael Devoe to the Memphis JVs. Juzang was the leading scorer and hero. Brice and Tay Henny attempted to snatch defeat from the Jaws of victory. Both were very Gradey Dick like tonight.

The numbers say that Sensabaugh shot 11/16 to put up 22 pts, 6 rbs and 3 stls.
 
During the Stars meltdown in the 4th quarter, the guy doing a lot of damage for the Lakers JVs was Bryce Hamilton former UNLV player. Bryce probably knows a lot of tricks as his two older brothers played in the NBA and his college coach was Kevin Kruger. It's kind of sad that our two rookies fell for the tricks.
 
Tay Henny with a stinker tonight 2-13 shooting in a 5 point Stars loss to the Trailblazers JVs. All of the starters for the Stars were pretty bad. Brice came off the bench and played really well and tied Juzang for leading scorer with 21 and was the leading rebounder. The bench including Brice, Kinsey, Miller, Ogenda and Justice played really well. The Stars led by 3 after 3 quarters and had a one point lead with 52 seconds but never scored again.

Maybe it's just the camera angle and distance from the court but gawd, G-League just doesn't look like the place to assess the play of Brice. Players are a step slower and the floor is so open it just suits his skill level to a T. Finessing baskets with a soft body & a ready smile aren't going to serve him well in big league ball.

As to Hendricks, I think he's just younger than his years in terms of maturity and basketball experience which impacts his confidence on this new larger stage. I hope he makes large strides between now and onset of next season. He certainly has the potential.

Hendricks has been pretty mediocre in the GLeague. It's hard to say he deserves to play on the main team yet.

It's early, and progress isn't linear, but it looks like we made massive mistakes passing on Whitmore/Jaquez/Jackson in favor of Brice/Hendricks.
