Should the U.S. and Canada get closer?

Hmm. Interesting. I would not be opposed to open discussion taking place between the two governments. I am sure certain things would be deemed untouchable by each side. I think it's only a matter of time. Wonder if a central American union will form.

I want a union of all English speaking nations with a couple possible exceptions.

NO!

There is already a huge problem in America imo with inadequate representation. The United states population of over 300,000,000 is represented by 538 individuals. The Us should be considering splitting the country up legislatively under one constitution and one supreme court(3 from each nation).

Canada would be welcome to join such a league, but to expand the behemoth that is Washington is in my view ridiculous.

I'm not against what you're saying at all, but I think things like citizenship, immigration, military, trade, etc. could benefit from a closer partnership.

I wouldn't want to consider this until we had a decent public conversation about REAL representation. I think as things are today this would just be a step towards a single continental government to which I would be very opposed to.

Can I get closer one Canadian at a time?

From this author's point of view the Euro Union is somehow a success and an example to be followed despite the fact that it's constantly falling apart, despite the fact that power has been usurped by unelected bureaucrats, despite the fact that It's gotten so ridiculous that the only argument the integrationists have is that more integration needs to happen for the grand experiment to actually work. Sort of along the same lines that the Socialists or Communists use when you brush over the colossal failures of both. It just wasn't a pure enough form.....

But hey, when you do amalgamate and put all the GDP stats/population stats together it does look mighty impressive. 1 is definitely 1. And 1 + 1 does equal 2. And 2 is bigger than 1.
