Why would you reconsider going somewhere because "I didn't get to tell everyone." That's clearly not the case. I DO believe he told a close group of people what he was going to do but he hasn't finished his blog post on his site thanking the fans and that's about it

I explain why. Because he told someone he trusts (Stevens) but made it very clear he wanted to keep it under wraps until he informs the Jazz FO and makes the announcement himself. Said person assures him that he will keep his confidence then goes and leaks it thinking Hayward probably told enough people that he won't know where the leak came from, except Hayward told no one except the person he trusted most.
