The NBA's New Lineups Of Death | The Ringer

I apologies for now drowning myself in the Kool aid Ala all the other mouth breathers in this and other threads. I should just accept 4th place as the true world changing victory it is and fight over the cookie like the rest of you in the circle jerk. I truly apologizing for wanting a championship rather than a constant rebuild cycle. I will try harder to be a true jazz fans and practically ****** every time one of the major media outlets say we "might" be pretty good this year. I just didn't have my standards setting low enough to match the rest of the board and obviously it struck a nerve. I apologizing for bumping up against all of your delicate sensitivities and throw in an enthusiastic "yes we might!"

After the Kanter trade, the team was well on their way to turning the corner before getting hammered by injuries. It seems to me the negative nancys on the board think our FO sucks because we should be able to lose multiple key players for a significant number of games and somehow never skip a beat. I'd call it unrealistic expectations, but whatever.

As for wanting a championship instead of being satisfied with mediocrity, I believe you and your kind have been inconsistent in your constant complaining. FE, the big complaint last year was not signing a replacement for Exum after he went down. No doubt, Utah could have tried to sign the best available option in a desperate attempt to make the playoffs immediately. Instead, they waited patiently and took their lumps for another year. Either you support rebuilding slowly and patiently, or you want the team to compete immediately, even if it comprises the bigger picture somewhat. Can't have it both ways.

Utah could definitely suffer from injury issues again, just like any other team in the league. And if they do, no doubt there will be a handful of eyeores claiming they were right all along that it somehow proves the FO to be incompetent. However, if the team remains healthy, you can bet your *** there will be copious amounts of crow to be eaten. It will be interesting to see which malcontents disappear from the board, and which ones man up and eat the crow they have earned.

If you want names just scan through this and countless other threads at the insults being thrown my way because I expressed an opinion I was less than satisfied with "ok" and wanted to see the jazz FO swing for the fences. In the wins prediction thread i said I would expect at least 45 wins this season, which is improvement, and wouldn't be surprised to see up to 47.of course that gets ignored in the name of trolling because no one can counter the core of my argument about this offseason which is that it really gets us no closer to a ring realistically and I'm tired of being stuck in the spin cycle. Apparently everyone who has the insecurity and feels the need to hurl invective, even in threads I haven't even posted in yet, are those fully satisfied with the "the media like us, they really really like us" ******** and it obviously sets them off when someone pisses reality in their cheerios that we all will not be any closer to the ring. I'm just getting sick of being trolled in every single thread because 1) I'm...along with franklin ....the only one being in the slightest realistic and 2) I am NOT satisfied with a first round exit. I want to see some real change but that is a real **** block for those jonsing to rim job the FO for bringing us some more role players that are probably better than the last role players. Obviously we have some VERY insecure posters here or they could discuss the issue without all the unwarranted trolling and insults.

The problem is you've never fully presented your case against Dennis Lindsey. If your only problem is Joe Johnson and George Hill, that's silly. They are short term talent infusions that won't effect the Jazz ability to sign or resign anyone long term.

Was it trading the draft pick? There is usually one all star that goes 12 or later at best. This was a particularly crap shoot of a draft. Draft Express, which covers the draft year round, was off by 20 spots around our pick. I don't remember seeing you in the draft thread clamoring for any of these guys either.

How many teams go from lotto to #1?
I think the Jazz's best line-up is going to be...

Exum / Hood / Hayward / Lyles / Gobert

Plenty of defensive length and rebounding. Plenty of spacing and pressure on the rim offensively.
My heart says Exum / Hood / Hayward / Favors / Gobert.

But my ridiculously big brain says switch Hill with Exum.

Who could we have realistically signed that would've propelled the Jazz past the other 29 teams, and don't say Durant, because he was never an option, and if u don't give a definite answer to this, u need to STFU!!

This lineup is much better than the one the author put out. I might even go with this:

Exum / Hill / Hayward / Lyles / Gobert

or

Exum / Hill / Johnson / Hayward / Gobert

the unwarranted trolling and insults.

mate are you kidding ??? pot calling the kettle black much ?? If you are actually serious in seeing yourself as the victim and wondering why people are having a go at you, it is because many of your posts come across as unnecessarily caustic & dripping with condescending sarcasm and insults. Maybe that isn't your intent but that's how it seems.

As far as actually discussing the issue, i can see where you're coming from but i just disagree. I think the team has been built to get into the upper echelon of the west for an extended period and with the hope that one or two of the guys somehow explode and become stars to put the Jazz into contention. That may not happen but the alternative if you want a ring is multiple years of tanking and being incredibly lucky in being in position to draft a superstar who may come along once every 7-10 years. I personally think the odds are better with option 1.

This year i truly think that the quality of "slightly better role players" replacing last years rotation is monumentally better than who they were replacing, and that combined with continued growth of most of the young players will see us win that 52 or so games and hopefully competing into the second round. If we struggle to just make the playoffs and lose the first round i will be the first to say you were right and congratulate you on your assessment. Last year i think the FO weren't really serious about winning but were still about trying to evaluate the talent on board, and this year the push to win and grow toward the upper teir of the west begins in earnest. Happy to respectfully agree to disagree.

As it gets closer to the pre season and Exum practicing and playing pickup games with his team mates that are showing up in Utah ,fans are seeing he's had alot of rehab and looks healthy as he as proclaimed himself.
Now you're hearing if he has his lateral quickness and speed back their remembering how good a Rudy Gobert /Dante Exum defense was 2 years ago.So here's the slam still going on about Exum....Oh he wasn't a star at 19 years old ,he didn't go knock defenses on their a$$ when going to the basket,he only shot 31% from 3 pt land at 19 years old,he listened to his Coach and didn't freelance and show stardom right now.F*cks sakes listen to the Coach and get knocked down for doing what coach tells you to do by Jazz fans,SMH.

Well now that it's getting closer ,the real anti Exum fans snarling about what he didn't accomplish at 19 years old are hovering and ready to jump on any Exum mistake so they can pat themselves on their back.

I'll just throw this out there... I think it gets lost how good this Jazz team was when healthy. Even last year too. There is reason to be excited. This IS a step towards a championship. You don't just take the elevator to the next floor in the NBA, you have to take the stairs. It's the Spurs mold. Sure I know Parker, Ginobli, Duncan but we COULD have enough talent on this roster. It isn't all hopeless because we don't have LeBron or KD or Steph.

It's 2-3 steps tbh.

Log keeps on saying he wanted the Jazz to swing for the fences, but he can't even say what that would've looked like. I wouldn't take his opinion too seriously.

People actually think Lyles Gobert backcourt is better than Favs Gobert? Wow! I've seen it all. I seriously wonder what some of you are watching.

Don't get me wrong, I am totally with you. But I can see the other side of the argument. I can see it being less about Lyles better than Favors and more about fit together. But like I said, I'm all for the two towers approach. You can't replicate GS.

Until he learns to be passable on defense, Trey Lyles needs to remain a bench player. I love the guy, but I cannot stomach any more years with matador big men. We need to be done with that.
